Love Stories from Our Villas

While we don’t host wedding ceremonies at our villas, we can help you to organise a romantic escape for you and your loved one. Some love stories call for a little drama, the good kind. One of the most unforgettable weddings we had the joy to be a part of took place on Hydra, where the entire island became part of the celebration. Guests stayed across our villas, with the couple making Citrus their home for the week.

The ceremony unfolded on a tiny islet just off the coast, home to a picture-perfect church surrounded by sea and sky. Afterwards, celebrations continued with a party at the Four Seasons, followed by a long, laughter-filled lunch at Calthea. It was the kind of wedding where every moment flowed effortlessly into the next.

In Puglia, another spectacular celebration caught the eye of Vogue Italia: a breathtaking event at Casino Doxi Stracca: “in a wedding conceived as a work of art”.

“The couple decided to get married twice in their two southern regions: Presicce, in Puglia, where half of his family is from, and Patagonia, in Argentina, where half of hers is from. For others, love is about recommitment. At Baia dei Turchi, we helped arrange a deeply personal vow renewal, officiated by a close friend of the couple. Flowers framed the pool terrace, followed by an aperitif and a private and memorable dinner at the villa. No crowds. No rush. Just meaning.

Big questions deserve beautiful settings, and at a one of our villas, the possibilities are wonderfully open-ended. At Belich, one proposal came together with flowers, champagne, a live band, and a breathtaking view of Selinunte, one of the largest archaeological sites in Europe.

Hotels have their place. But for honeymoons? A villa offers something entirely different.

At Casonu, couples slip into a slower rhythm: romantic dinners cooked just for two, private guided tours that reveal hidden corners of the island, boat trips along shimmering coastlines, and tables reserved at the very best restaurants.

It’s no surprise that one of our Greek villas, Enyalos, was recently highlighted in Vogue’s guide to planning a honeymoon fit for the Greek gods. Because a honeymoon isn’t just a holiday, it’s the first chapter of something new, and it deserves space to breathe.

At our villas breakfast stretches into brunch. Afternoons drift between pool, terrace and sea. There’s no lobby, no shared sun loungers, no background noise that isn’t your own choosing. It’s just the two of you, learning the shape of your days together.

A villa gives you seclusion without isolation, and the freedom to be entirely yourselves. Whether that means candlelit dinners at home, floating side by side in your own pool, or doing absolutely nothing at all.

Romance doesn’t end with honeymoons. In fact, some of the most moving moments we witness come years, even decades, later.

At AltaRocca, guests celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary were touched by thoughtful details: “The views, the amenities, the pool, the comfy beds — and thank you for the beautiful anniversary wine.”

At Dietro al Muro, a 60th anniversary was a week-long celebration with local wines and delicious cuisine, was all that little bit more special by the breathtaking sprawling vistas of Noto. At Villa Eterea, a 50th anniversary became a once-in-a-lifetime celebration in the Valle d'Itrian hills overlooking the Adriatic coast.

Whether it’s a proposal, vow renewal, anniversary, or honeymoon that deserves marking properly, our villas have a way of becoming part of the story. Not the loudest part, but the most meaningful one.
