The house of Arcadian views
A hi-spec modern villa with endless views and a hill-top pool... Clementina sits atop its very own hill, surrounded by almond orchards, olive groves and the rolling Arcadian countryside of south-eastern Sicily. The horizon sparkles with the inviting blue of the Ionian Sea while a fantastically positioned pool offers views that you will never tire of. Just a few miles away is glorious baroque Noto and a wonderful selection of sandy beaches at Vendicari Nature Reserve.

Clementina itself was in a wonderful location with an exceptional pool. It was luxurious, relaxing, and authentic, beautifully decorated and has everything you could need in the kitchens. Plus the local team really made us feel special. 10/10!

We have rented many villas in Italy and Clementina was one of the very best. It felt like a home, was beautifully decorated, the outdoor space was beyond expectations, the proximity to Noto was perfect, the homemade charcoal made us want to grill every night, and we loved the olive oil. We love to cook and this kitchen was so well equipped. It really is idyllic.

Clementina is a sublime place to relax and unwind. We loved everything really, the views, the location, the pool, the area, the facilities, it was just a wonderful place. We would return.

We had an exceptional holiday at Clementina, probably the best we have ever had. What stood out? Everything! The villa, the pool and the house staff. Also the people at The Thinking Traveller.

What stood out about Clementina for us was the location, the pool, the size of rooms, and the quiet setting. Our stay was calming, quiet, and relaxing.

Clementina is set in rolling hills between the fascinating Baroque town of Noto and the beautiful natural reserve of Vendicari.
Noto is the most easterly of a chain of Baroque towns now protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also perhaps the most perfect of the baroque towns, which were all rebuilt in flamboyant style following a major earthquake in 1693.
Vendicari Nature Reserve boasts some of the finest sandy beaches in Sicily, which are pleasingly under-populated even in the height of summer. Vendicari is also home to thousands of migrating flamingos, and sea turtles nest on its beaches.
If hiking in the hills is your thing, then there is some spectacular scenery in the rushing streams and waterfalls of Cassibile and at the Paleolithic burial sites in the dramatic valley of Pantalica.
Syracuse is just half an hour's drive away, and a day there is highly recommended to anybody spending a week or two at Clementina. A little further afield, the other baroque towns of Modica, Ragusa and Scicli are easily reachable in a day.

A helicopter trip in Sicily over Etna and to the Aeolian Islands is a highly moving experience, enough to reduce grown men and women to tears! Book with us for a truly unforgettable addition to your Sicilian holiday.

Nero D’Avola, Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Frappato, Syrah and Moscato Bianco are just a few of the grape varieties cultivated in the Noto area, and we heartily recommend a vineyard visit during your stay. We know the right people and the most prestigious wineries in the area, and we’d be delighted to arrange a chauffeured wine tasting tour with lunch for you.

From here until the southeasternmost tip of Sicily, the coastline is an uninterrupted stretch of sandy beach, dotted with picturesque little resort towns, including Punta Secca (Inspector Montalbano's home), Marina di Ragusa, Donnalucata, Cava d'Aliga, Sampieri and Marina di Modica. The last strip, made up of several miles of dunes, is where the Allied forces landed in the 2nd World War. At the southernmost tip of Sicily is Isola Delle Correnti, offering an almost African scenario. Indeed, here we are considerably further south than Tunis.Just around the southeastern tip and heading north up the east coast, are the beaches of Marzamemi, San Lorenzo and Vendicari Nature Reserve. The reserve's salt water lagoons and varieties of flora offer the ideal habitat for a wide range of fauna, including nesting turtles and migrating flamingos.Continuing up the east coast, between Vendicari and the historic Greek town of Syracuse, are the popular sandy beaches of Marina di Noto, Calabernado, Marina di Avola, Gelsomineto, Fontane Bianche and Arenella.
