Perhaps most deserving of the first mention is the beautifully conceived lounge bar on the ground floor. With it barrel-vaulted ceilings, shelves of spirits and liqueurs, bespoke wooden bar, suffused lighting, and plenty of sink-in sofas, this is an atmospheric spot in which to come together to raise a glass.

The piano nobile (the aristocratic first floor) is home to a trio of convivial spaces, whose lofty ceilings, sumptuous décor, original features and sense of atmosphere really stand out. First is a beautifully appointed, double-sized salon with plenty of comfy designer seating and a grand piano; next is a spacious dining room, whose large, square table creates a sense of occasion; last, but definitely not least, is the ballroom, originally conceived for elegant soirées and now more capable than ever of inspiring celebration.

Outside the riches continue. The aforementioned lounge bar spills out into the formal gardens, on the opposite side of which is the first al fresco dining area. Shaded by a large cane pergola and sheltered by wall of restored feeding troughs this congenial space features a 12m-long table lovingly created from the Casina’s reclaimed old doors.

An area near the old chapel (perfect for renewing vows) has been equipped with a sound system for nights of dancing, while the pool area offers yet more opportunities for gregarious gatherings. Alongside its lounge area is another shaded dining table that's served by a wood-burning pizza oven and a barbecue.

Agriculture, harvesting, seasonality, cooking and dining are all fundamental to life at Casina Cinquepozzi. Surrounded by 40 acres of regenerative farmland, the property produces much of what you will eat and drink, particularly in terms of vegetables, herbs, fruit, and wine. Seafood is delivered fresh by local fishermen, and the finest delicacies are sourced from the area's wonderful markets.

Working closely with the owners and the estate's agronomists is Oliviero Ghiyassodin, a private chef dedicated to Casina Cinquepozzi. Born and raised in Puglia, he is an expert in Puglian ingredients and cooking but also comes with considerable international experience from his years working in Spain, France and the UK, including at Morton’s in London’s Berkeley Square

All meals, including ingredients, are included at Casina Cinquepozzi (with the exception of particular requests outside the menus), and days spent at the villa are punctuated with moments of culinary magic. Lazy breakfasts, long lunches, and star- and moonlit dinners mark the passing of the hours, and after your first repast, your anticipation between mealtimes will only grow.
