Inside

accommodation at Ammare is laid out over two floors.

The main entrance opens into the ground floor hallway. To the left is a well-proportioned living area with lofty wood-beamed ceilings and a wall of sliding glass doors that bring in the magnificent sea views and allow access to a long balcony-walkway running along the entire façade of the property. A pair of sofas and a couple of armchairs are strategically positioned to make most of the views, while in the corner is a decorative fireplace. Another glass door to one side opens out onto a shady terrace.

To the right of the entrance hall is the bright, well-equipped kitchen-diner, which boasts more wonderful sea views and access to the terrace by the main entrance.

A corridor from the kitchen leads to the ground floor's sleeping quarters, which comprise a double bedroom with garden views, a twin bedroom with sea views, and a shared shower room.

The lower ground floor is accessed externally via a flight of steps near the main entrance. Here there is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a laundry room, a shared shower room, and a "sea room" with shower opening out directly onto the seafront.

Outside

Ammare is set in a wrap-around garden of shady trees and, on three sides, emerald lawns.

Most al fresco activity takes place on the sea-facing side of the house, where covered terracotta-tiled terraces, accessed from the living room and the kitchen, offer space for sitting, dining and gazing out at the phenomenal views of the Ionian Sea, the Gulf of Catania and Mount Etna. On the right (when looking out to sea) is a sitting area (perfect for morning coffee or an aperitivo before dinner), on the left is a dining area, and at the centre is a long balcony-walkway running along the front of the house.

Key to life at Ammare is the direct access to the sea, which is accessed either via the lower ground floor "sea room", or via a gate to one side of the gardens (on the right looking out to sea). Please note that this gate is shared with one neighbouring property, which has right of access via a path along the edge of Ammare's garden.

Please note that the sea access in front of this property can get busy in July and August. Getting into the sea is via rocks and so may not be possible to use if the sea is rough.

Boats moor in the bay, especially in the high season, and the seafront area is public and may be used by other people. While this can create a lively atmosphere, their presence may create some noise during the day. The sunloungers and other equipment provided are for the exclusive use of guests staying at Ammare, however.

Please note that this villa does not have a pool.

Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.

Although this property is located within walking distance of some shops and restaurants, we strongly recommend that you hire a car. Please note that there is no private parking at the property, however there is a communal parking area in front of the villa.
