We had an amazing stay at Masseria Belvedere, and everyone loved the property! What stood out was the original building with tasteful modern upgrades and amenities. The experience has been top notch and we will most likely use The Thinking Traveller again.

What stood out about Masseria Belvedere? The beautiful grounds; all of the bedrooms are beautifully maintained and interesting; the pool and view from the grounds gorgeous; most fantastic is the rooftop deck - we had cocktails on the deck each evening.

Masseria Belvedere sits in a panoramic position overlooking the Adriatic Sea between the bustling port city of Brindisi and the historic town of Carovigno. This latter has ancient roots dating back at least to Greek times and there's plenty to see there, including numerous churches, an impressive 15th-century castle, and a labyrinthine old town centre, not to mention a good selection of restaurants, cafés and shops.
Down on the coast below Masseria Belvedere is a series of Blue Flag beaches, including those at Torre Santa Sabina and Specchiolla. One of the main attractions of the area is the Torre Guaceto Nature and Marine Reserve, which is home to sandy beaches, dunes, woods, coral reefs, fields of posidonia, wetlands, walking trails and a wide variety of flora and fauna.
A 20-minute drive north of Masseria Belvedere is the utterly charming old town Ostuni, while a little further afield are the picturesque centres of the Valle d'Itria, including Cisternino, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, and Alberobello
Heading south into Salento, an easy drive (around 45 minutes) will take you to the magical baroque city of Lecce, which is well worth a day trip.

The Valle d'Itria has a rich culinary heritage that combines simplicity, deliciously flavoursome ingredients, and respect for tradition. One of our culinary experiences in the area will give you a unique insight into one of Italy's most genuine and tasty expressions of cucina povera.

The Valle d’Itria boasts its own “wine road”, running between the towns of Locorotondo and Martina Franca. The former, which perches atop its very own hill, is yet another of those picture-perfect towns that the Valle d’Itria excels in. After spending a little time exploring its achingly beautiful streets and admiring the wonderful views, we recommend you head down to one of the terraced vineyards below to taste Locorotondo’s renowned white wine, arguably the best in Puglia. We know the best places, so just say the word and we’ll organise a tour anda tasting for you.

When in Puglia you are rarely far from the sea and it is no coincidence that the region's inhabitants are great seafarers. Yachting and pleasure-boating are popular pastimes, as are most watersports. Indeed, it is the sea, its beaches and its translucent waters that make Puglia such a popular holiday destination not only for Italians but also for a growing number of overseas visitors.

No trip to Salento would be complete without a wine tasting to discover the famous Negroamaro and Primitivo grapes accompanied by some local delicacies. As well as these spectacular local wines, Puglia is typified by the millions of ancient olive trees scattered across the region, which produce extra virgin olive oil of a spectacular quality. A guided tour will give you a fascinating insight into the secrets of its production.
