We loved everything about Masseria Acquadolce - it is really a unique property with very friendly staff and outstanding service. We enjoyed a magical stress-free holiday.

SZ September 2024

The moment we reached the private road lined with trees that opened up the main gate of Masseria Acquadolce everything about the experience exceeded any expectations I might have had. Everyday we woke up to a beautiful spread on the terrace under a canopy of jasmine flowers. Lounging all day by the pool, dipping into the cool refreshing waters. The architecture was particularly beautiful with many hidden nooks and areas to explore and the views from the roof terrace were stunning. It’s hard to sum up how special this experience was beyond saying you had to be there.

The experience was excellent, authentic and spotless. Masseria Acquadolce was beyond imagination and the location is very remote and secluded - perfect for relaxing or an intimate private party. We all loved it!

What stood out about Masseria Acquadolce? The standard and the setting of this place, the hospitality, and the flexibility of the staff. We had a relaxing family-holiday-week in a wonderful setting for everybody from baby to grandpa.

Masseria Aquadolce exceeded our expectations. It was comfortable and beautiful, with enough space for everyone to gather, dine and spend leisure time around the luxurious pool. The rooftop patio was a glorious spot for cocktail hour. Our trip was perfect. The staff went out of their way to make sure our visit was outstanding in every way. We came home with memories that will last a lifetime.

The Area

Masseria Acquadolce is set in the gentle Salento countryside, surrounded by centuries-old olive groves and woods. The area is dotted with charming rural towns such as Taurisano, Ugento, Miggiano and Specchia, in each of which you will find local markets, restaurants, some lovely architecture and a sense of the simple life. The sandy beaches of the Ionian coast are a short drive away past Ugento, and you may choose between free beaches and some stylish lidos.

The baroque jewel of Lecce is less than an hour's drive to the north, and is a great day out for anyone interested in Italian art and architecture of the 17th and 18th centuries. Further south, the "turn of the century" resort town of Leuca, right on the "heel" of Italy, with its Liberty villas is also well worth a visit. Meanwhile, a short drive to the northwest will take you to the fortified island town of Gallipoli, with its lovely old centre, its sea-front fish restaurants and a gently bustling atmosphere.
