Masseria Palaci was beautiful - we really took advantage of the amazing outdoor space. We are a family of 15, but don't always find rentals with a dining table or seating areas sufficient to accommodate all of us. The spaces at the villa accommodated our large family. The landscaping was lovely. The structure itself was spectacular as was the pool. The key to making this the most relaxing holiday ever was having all of our meals prepared by the amazing staff. It was remarkable - everything was homemade and absolutely delicious!! They worked so hard to make every meal special. Our stay there was ideal in every way! We highly recommend Masseria Palaci!!

We stayed at Masseria Palaci at the end of May, just as spring turned to summer. Wildflowers were still blooming all over Puglia, the weather was golden, and it felt like we had all of Salento to ourselves. We came as a family to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday (three generations, from age 1 to 60!) and Masseria Palaci was the perfect setting. Everything moves at a beautiful pace here, and we felt so well looked after from the moment we arrived. The housekeeper leads the team with such warmth and care. They were always one step ahead of what we needed. The caretaker tended the gardens and pool, and ran the wood-fired pizza oven (which we loved!), and two lovely women prepared the most incredible meals and kept the house spotless. The whole team treated us like family, especially the kids, always surprising them with little snacks and homemade treats. And the food! Homemade pasta every day, fresh and fried antipasti, house-made yogurt each morning, honey from the villa’s own hives, homemade limoncello in the evenings, and the most delicious ice creams and sorbets! Every meal was a celebration, especially with Aperol spritzes in hand and sunlight dappling the table. Even just watching the team prepare each meal was a delight, but eating it was even better! The villa itself is beautiful, like something straight out of Architectural Digest. The pool is even more stunning than the photos, and the shady courtyard, where grapevines trail overhead and terracotta pots burst with flowers, became the heart of our evenings. We shared candlelit dinners there each night, with jazz playing, and the comforting sounds of the kitchen behind us. Some favourite moments: naps in the hammock under the fig tree, sunset aperitivi on the rooftop, and a magical party night arranged by the team, with a live Puglian band, a floral tablescape, a special menu, and a surprise birthday cake. Memories for life. Another highlight was pizza night, when the pizzaiolo let the kids help, stretching dough, sprinkling cheese, and sliding their creations into the huge old stone oven with the massive pizza paddle. They were beaming with pride! I can’t recommend Masseria Palaci enough. It’s perfect for a big family celebration, but would be just as dreamy for a smaller group of friends or a quiet escape. We’re already plotting our return!

We had a magnificent experience at Masseria Palaci. It is such a special place. There's nothing like it. The details of this villa from the pool to the kitchen is next level. But what made it even stand out more was the staff - amazing meals, spotless villa. We were in tears when we left because we knew we will miss this haven of a place. Until next time. We can't wait to come back. Think no more if you are second guessing to book this place. Because you will be taken to a best journey of your life!

The Area

Sitting between the little town of Salve and the long golden sands of Salento's southwestern coast, Masseria Palaci is well placed for discovering the area's myriad charms. Just a few minutes' drive away are the so-called "Maldives" beaches of Pescoluse, Torre Vado and the Riva di Ugento, whose transparent, electric blue waters are truly special. There are several chic lidi where you can relax in style, have a bite to eat or a sundowner.

The charming Liberty Style resort town of Santa Maria di Leuca, with its restaurants, bars and yachting marina, is just a 15-minute drive away, while the fascinating fortified island town of Gallipoli is just half an hour away.

Slightly further afield, but still within easy striking distance, is the beautiful baroque masterpiece of Lecce and the east-facing Adriatic gem of Otranto.

Salento is also home to many charming, off-the-beaten-track towns and villages tucked away in the gentle countryside. Each one has its own particular character, history, gastronomic specialities and we highly recommend you visit a few.
