Rare beauty, infinite variety, millennial traditions, charming historic towns, towering mountains, gastronomic delights, and a multitude of white sandy beaches: combine all these elements and one comes close to describing Corsica. Bonifacio and Pianottoli

Bonifacio is one of the Mediterranean’s most dramatically positioned and picturesque towns. Teetering perilously on a high cliff above the sea, and topped by an impressive citadel, it offers sublime views over to Sardinia, a great selection of restaurants and bars, and a vibrant marina. The surrounding coastline is a haven for nature lovers, with vast stretches of aromatic maquis, numerous sandy bays, and granite rock formations that live long in the memory.

Porto Vecchio

Porto Vecchio’s long history dates back to at least Roman times, and today it is one of Corsica’s most charming towns. Sitting above its port, it has a great food market, numerous cafés and bars, and a welcoming, untouristy feel. Nearby are the beaches of Ovu Santu, Palombaggia and Santa Giulia, whose white sands and electric blue shallows are idyllic. Rising up behind the town, meanwhile, are the charismatic emerald mountains of the interior, whose appeal is difficult to resist.

Valinco

In southwest Corsica, between the two Genoese watchtowers of Capo di Muro and Campomoro, is the Gulf of Valinco, an area known both for its numerous paradisiacal sandy beaches and for its historic towns. At the epicentre is the marina of Propriano, with its buzzing cafés, restaurants and bars, while inland is the picture-perfect, panoramic village of Olmeto and the timeless centre of Sartène, the most Corsican of Corsican towns, according to the novelist Prosper Merimée.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why visit Corsica?

Corsica is an island that feels gloriously untamed. In the western Mediterranean, granite peaks tumble through forests of chestnut and pine before giving way to ribbons of white sand and luminous turquoise water. Its distinct character is felt everywhere, from the melodic sounds of the Corsican language to traditions that remain deeply rooted in daily life. In the south, beautiful beaches share the landscape with ancient hilltop villages, acclaimed restaurants and sun-drenched scenery that seems almost painterly. Staying in one of our luxury Corsica villas allows you to experience an island where mountain, sea and culture come together in a way that feels both authentic and unforgettable.

Where Should You Stay in Corsica?

Our luxury villas in Corsica are dotted across the island’s awe-inspiring coastal landscapes, from the golden bays of Porto Vecchio and the limestone cliffs of Bonifacio to the quieter shores of Valinco and Solenzara. Every stretch of the island tells a different story, from fishing harbours and medieval citadels to mountain-fringed beaches and villages perched high above the sea. Further afield, Ajaccio offers a vibrant blend of culture and coastline, while the Balagne region enchants with its hilltop settlements and sandy beaches. Wherever you're drawn, our Villa Specialists can help you find the best Corsica villas that feel just right.

What Is There to Do in Corsica?

A rewarding Corsica villa holiday is about venturing beyond the shoreline to experience the island's wild interior as well. Along the coast, Palombaggia near Porto Vecchio is celebrated for its powder-soft sand and crystalline waters, while boat trips to the protected Lavezzi Islands reveal some of Corsica's finest snorkelling spots. Inland, walking sections of the legendary GR20 offers a chance to discover the island's rugged mountain scenery and remote landscapes.
