Frequently Asked Questions

Why Visit Kastos?

Kastos is one of the Ionian's smallest and least-visited inhabited islands, a place of extraordinary quiet where the absence of crowds and vehicles are the main draw. A single small harbour, a handful of charming tavernas and a scattering of pebble coves define island life here. Our luxury Kastos villas appeal to those who want complete immersion in the natural calm of the Ionian, with no compromise on the quality of the light, the access to crystalline water or authentic Greek culture.

Where Should You Stay in Kastos?

Kastos is small enough that most villas are within easy reach of the harbour and the island's main beaches. The harbour area is the social centre, with the island's tavernas and the regular ferry arrivals providing the rhythm of daily life. Villas on the eastern side of the island tend to look towards Meganissi and the wider Ionian. Our Villa Specialists can advise on the best Kastos villas for your escape, get in touch to learn more.

What Is There to Do in Kastos?

Kastos is a dreamland for those that crave total freedom and a bounty of natural beauty. You can swim from the island's pebble beaches, snorkel in clear shallow water, and explore the coastline by kayak and much more. Boat and yacht trips to neighbouring Kalamos and Meganissi can be organised by our knowledgeable team, too. In the evening, you may want to sample one of the island's two or three tavernas, which serve fresh fish caught the same day. The experience is intentionally simple and entirely absorbing. How to Get to Kastos

You can get to Kastos by flying to Aktion Airport (PVK), then taking a transfer to the mainland port of Mytikas (50 minute journey), and finally a ferry will take you to Kastos. From our local specialist

Tree Doorway

"Hire a boat and head over to the neighbouring island of Kalamos. There’s an idyllic beach (Myrtia), a little harbour village with tavernas, and a path leading up to a hill-top monastery with fabulous views back across the water to Kastos."
