We had the perfect holiday at Akrothea. What stood out was the quality of the villa, the location and your Local Specialist. We would return again.

Akrothea was perfect. We hardly left the villa.

Akrothea and its setting are outstanding - some of the best views we have ever had on holiday, anywhere in the world! It's a rustic setting and the experience was enhanced by having access to a boat during our stay, but the villa is quite unique.

Akrothea is the template for the perfect villa. Light, airy, comfortable, beautifully decorated with fab outdoor entertaining areas. Every bedroom has its own terrace and the views are immense. Wonderfully landscaped with a pretty garden.

Magical escape.

Akrothea is superbly managed and supported by the staff. We loved the private and charming access to the sea, the gorgeous covered outdoor dining table surrounded by trees, the beautiful pool, the views, and the sleepy feel of the island - no crowds, empty roads. Would we return to Akrothea? Yes. Its was extremely relaxing and everything worked.

Akrothea is set in a totally private 10-acre coastal estate, just to the south of Agios Ioannis on Meganissi's west coast. Its private sea access, offering excellent snorkelling and swimming opportunities, means you might not need to move far from home but there is also a shallow, secluded beach just a very short walk from the main gate.
A 20-minute walk along a pebble track and tarmac road will get you from the villa to Paradiso, an idyllic waterfront taverna set in a sheltered bay with small jetties to accommodate visiting boats.
* Il Paradiso will only open for lunch and not in the evenings.
Meganissi covers just 20 square kilometres but has plenty to offer, with numerous bays and beaches to explore, sleepy white-washed villages, such as Katomeri or Spartochori, to wander around and lots of good walking paths in the centre of the island.
The two main harbours of Vathi and Spilia are great spots for dining on fish, whiling away an hour or two with a drink in hand or setting out on one of the frequent ferries to visit other islands in the Ionian archipelago, such as neighbouring Lefkada, which you will spend many hours looking at from the villa!
