Reduced Occupancy

During the shoulder seasons, Le Cannelle has a reduced price for a group of up to 8 or 10 that only need up to 4 or 5 bedrooms. When booking for 4 bedrooms, guests will stay in Casa Cielo, and Casa Blue will not be accessible (the in-house cook works in Casa Blue's kitchen); all other amenities and the grounds will remain at the complete disposal of guests. When booking for 5 bedrooms, guests will stay in Casa Blue, and the bedrooms in Casa Cielo will be closed. However, the kitchen in Casa Cielo (the in-house cook works in Casa Blue's kitchen), all other amenities, and the grounds will remain at the complete disposal of guests.

Accommodation at Le Cannelle is spread over two* houses – Casa Blue and Casa Cielo. Finished to extremely high standards, they are an homage to Tuscan architectural traditions, both in their materials (many of which were reclaimed from pre-existing buildings on the estate) and in their furnishings, which are a harmonious, elegant mix of local heritage and classic country style. Terracotta flooring runs throughout, lofty, wood-beamed ceilings add warmth, stone walls root the properties in their terroir, and iron window grills and wooden shutters complete what is a very alluring and classically Tuscan picture.

Inside Casa Blue

the largest of the two houses, Casa Blue is the hub of the property as a whole.

The ground floor boasts an extremely generous, free-flowing open space with arches connecting the various zones, and banks of windows and French doors bringing in the views and the light. A grand dining area occupies one side, while to the other is a multi-dimensional sitting area comprising an elegant red chaise-longue gazing out to sea via a large, curvaceous picture window, an impressive fireplace flanked by a pair of easy chairs, and a sofa and armchairs gathered sociably together at the far end. Artworks, both contemporary and antique, adorn the walls, and the occasional agricultural artefact, including a seven-foot tall wooden wine-press screw, hints at the property’s former life.

A wide arch leads from the sitting area into the games room, where there is a beautifully restored antique pool table with red baize. This room also connects with the central hallway behind the living area.

Completing the ground floor of Casa Blue is the well-equipped country kitchen, which is accessed from the hallway and the dining area. It comes with a central breakfast table and a door opening out onto the al fresco dining area. Please note that this kitchen is for the use of the cook, who will prepare your meals there. Guests have full access to the kitchen in Casa Cielo as well as the one down by the pool.

A grand staircase leads from the hallway up to a large landing on the first floor, off which are five bedrooms:

• the principal bedroom, a double-aspect double with super view out over the countryside to the sea, and an en-suite bathroom with tub and shower attachment
• another double-aspect double with the same views as the principal bedroom, and an en-suite shower room
• a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room and more of those gorgeous views
• a twin bedroom with countryside views and a bathroom with tub and shower attachment next door
• a twin bedroom with countryside views and a shower room next door

Inside Casa Cielo

situated around 30m from Casa Blue, Casa Cielo offers more of the same Tuscan charm and luxuriously appointed accommodation.

On the ground floor is wide and roomy communal space incorporating a living area with a couple of sofas and armchairs gathered round a fireplace to one side, and a convivial dining area to the other. French doors open out onto a terrace and the gardens, and picture windows drink in the views. Next to dining area is a large, well-equipped kitchen with breakfast table and access to a shady terrace.

An opening from the living area leads into a hallway, off which is a snug TV room furnished with a sofa and a pair of armchairs.

Stairs lead up from the hallway to the first floor, where there are four bedrooms:

• two double-aspect doubles with splendid sea views and en-suite bathrooms (one with a shower and one with a tub and shower attachment)
• a twin bedroom with countryside views and an en-suite shower room
• a twin bedroom with an adjacent bathroom with tub and shower attachment.

Outside

Le Cannelle is immersed in over 30 acres of ancient oak forests, manicured lawns and sweeping grounds, all landscaped by renowned designer Paolo Pejrone. Al fresco life is at once liberating and blissful, and the omnipresent views that pan out over the rolling countryside, the sea, and the islands of Gorgona and Capraia (and even Corsica on a clear day) are captivating.

There’s plenty of space for fun and games, solitary pursuits, and communal get-togethers. Strolling (or running) around the estate is a great pleasure, and there is plenty to discover as you go.

Wrapping around the houses is a swathe of emerald lawn, and both properties have their own delightful covered outdoor dining area. The largest, outside Casa Blue, can seat up to 20, making this the spot where everyone can gather for long, lazy lunches and convivial dinners under the Tuscan stars.

Paths lead down round an sloping bank of verdant trees and shrubs to the gorgeous pool area, which has been designed for those who love to spend whole days basking in the sun, swimming, snoozing in the shade and gazing out at tremendous views.

At the centre is the irresistible 16m-long infinity pool, which is surrounded by paved solariums, sun loungers and umbrellas. The pool house, with its extended roof, provides more shade and all the essential amenities, including changing rooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and tables and chairs.

Le Cannelle is a fully-serviced villa whose staff, including a cook and housekeepers, will ensure that you fully enjoy your stay without having to worry about anything domestic.

Dining at Le Cannelle
The in-villa cook service includes the preparation of breakfast and dinner daily. The cook will work in the kitchen of Casa Blue, but guests have full use of the kitchen in Casa Cielo as well as the one down by the pool.

Just tell the staff a couple of days before how many people will be there for each meal, and select a menu for the whole group.

Fixed cost of ingredients* per meal per person:
Breakfast: €15 per person
Dinner: €35** per person

* Children under 10 pay ½ price. It is possible to arrange for children under 10 to eat before the rest of the group, but in this case the menu would be a bit different (to be agreed with the parents).
** The fixed dinner price applies to menus selected from the villa's curated dining proposals, carefully prepared by the staff. Should you wish to customize the menu with additional dishes or premium ingredients, any supplementary cost will be quoted according to the cost of the ingredients requested. As a guideline, a seafood dinner starts from €60 per person.

Please note that water is included in the prices above, but all other beverages, including wine, are not.

Le Cannelle features a fantastic infinity pool, offering swimmers stunning views while in the pool. There is a drop off the infinity side so we recommend children are supervised at all times. Please refer to our general safety page if you would like more information about infinity pools.

This property is surrounded by countryside, some of which is unfenced and may include drops or steep slopes. We therefore recommend that younger children are supervised by an adult when exploring the grounds.

Please note that two of the twin bedrooms (one in each house) has a third single bed. This may be used by guests, depending on their requirements, but the maximum total occupancy remains 18, children included.

The discreet and helpful caretakers live in the property with a private entrance, this area is not accessible to clients. The staff will not disturb in any way.
