NB: A double-twin bedroom has two single beds that can either be joined together to create a double bed or left separate as two single beds.

Reduced Occupancy

During the shoulder seasons, Margarita has a reduced price for a group of up to 10 that only need up to 5 bedrooms. The bedrooms not required will be closed, but the rest of the villa, its amenities and its grounds will remain at the complete disposal of guests. Should you book the reduced occupancy rate, bedroom 1 and four others will be prepared for you.

Inside

accommodation at Margarita is spread over a main house and six bedrooms with independent access from the terraces.

One of entrances to the main house leads into a light, airy and wonderfully voluminous living area. At around 11m in length, it boasts double-height A-frame ceilings, stone walls and stone-flagged floors. At the centre is a monumental fireplace and a pair of comfy white sofas, while to one end is a TV area. Paintings and photos adorn the walls, French doors lead out onto the sea-view terraces, and quality wooden furniture adds warmth. This space is the stylistic blueprint for the rest of the property.

An opening at the far end of the living room leads in to dining room, whose generous dimensions and impressive fireplace echo the grandeur of its neighbour. A pair of French doors brings in the light and allows access to the shaded al fresco dining terrace, while at the centre is a large dining table. A door leads into the well-equipped country kitchen with breakfast table.

The remaining accommodation of the main house is accessed from the living area, where an arched opening allows the space to flow into a snug sitting room with fireplace and access to a long shaded arcade to the rear of the property (of which more later). Off the snug is a guest WC and the principal bedroom, a spacious double with white beamed ceilings, a dressing area, a large fireplace, an en-suite bathroom with separate tub and shower, and access to a wonderfully shady sea-view terrace.

Behind the main house, outside the kitchen and the sitting room snug, is a secluded pergola-shaded arcade, which extends in an L-shape round to the sea-facing terraces and provides access to the remaining six bedrooms:

Outside

Margarita's extensive seafront grounds are certainly one of the property's many highlights. Life is meant to be lived outside here, and all pursuits are catered for.

Running along the façade of the main house is a long sea-view terrace offering both shady and sunny spots in which to while away the hours. To one end, outside the principal bedroom, is a well-furnished sitting area, secluded by white curtains that flutter gently in the cooling sea breeze. At the opposite end, meanwhile, is a gorgeous shaded dining area, accessed from the dining room. At the centre, accessed from the living room, is more space for sitting, enjoying a coffee and gazing out at the sea views.

A few steps towards the sea leads to the vast pool terrace, whose stone flooring is punctuated with a variety of colourful plants, aromatic shrubs and shady trees. To one side is a gazebo, while at the centre is the 15m-long salt-water pool itself, a refreshing magnet for children and adults alike.

As mentioned in the inside description, to the rear and side of the main house is a long L-shaped arcade topped by flowing climbers that offer shade and perfume the air.

To one side of the pool terrace is a large expanse of pine-shaded gardens, while to the front, a sea gate opens out directly onto the pebbly beach and translucent waters of Molos Bay. A shared jetty here is a real boon for those who wish to explore by boat or to nip into Hydra Port by sea taxi.

Last, but certainly not least, is the tennis court behind the property, which also comes with a basketball net, ideal for any sporty types in your group.

Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.

Boats moor in the bay, especially in the high season, and the seafront area is public and may be used by other people.

Please note that due to the risk of wildfires, the use of fire pits and barbecues is restricted when the weather is windy or temperatures are high. This is particularly common in July and August. More information will be provided in your House Guide and via your local specialist.
