Inside

Casa di Lume is laid out over a ground floor and a mezzanine level.

The main entrance opens into a welcoming hallway, off which the accommodation flows. Immediately to the left is a generously proportioned, light-filled communal space with high sloping ceilings, two wide sets of sliding glass doors opening out onto terraces, and a warm, enriching atmosphere. To one side is a well-equipped corner kitchen with island-bar and a dining table surrounded by summery wicker chairs. To the other side is an inviting sitting area with a sink-in sofa, an ottoman, a mid-century leather strap chair and a fireplace. The soft colour scheme of cream, white and grey acts as the perfect canvas for the sun’s golden rays.

A door next to the sitting area leads into the first bedroom, a double with an in-room shower and sink, a separate WC, and sliding glass doors open out onto the surrounding terraces.

Back in the entrance hall, one finds a guest WC and, on the right, two bedrooms, both doubles with partially screened, in-room showers and sinks (these two rooms make use of the WC in the hall). One has sea views and sliding glass doors opening out onto the terraces.

Moving straight on from the hallway, one comes to a snug sitting area and then the fourth bedroom, another double with sliding glass doors opening out into the gardens, a long rectangular window above the bed, and an en-suite shower room.

Last but not least, stairs lead up from the snug sitting area to the mezzanine, which hosts another sea-view double bedroom with in-room shower and sink and a separate WC.

Outside

Casa di Lume is immersed in fragrant, mature gardens that are a natural extension of the surrounding maquis-rich landscape. Holm oaks, olives, scented shrubs, grasses and herbs are interspersed with granite masses, and the atmosphere is imbued with a tranquil serenity.

Wide sliding glass doors on either side of the communal space at Casa di Lume open out onto two contrasting decked terraces. The first, immersed in the verdant gardens, is a secluded, shady spot that’s perfect for relaxing with a book or chatting in total tranquillity. The second, which is furnished for al fresco dining, offers wide-open vistas over the pool, the grounds, and the maquis-green coastline of southern Corsica.

Following a path down from the second terrace one quickly arrives at the gorgeous cobalt pool, which is surrounded on three sides by decking, quality sun loungers and umbrellas.

A few steps down from the pool, meanwhile, is the idyllic and well-shaded al fresco kitchen, bar and second al fresco dining area. It is here that you will probably cook and dine most of the time during your stay.

During the high season, especially at weekends, you may occasionally hear planes arriving at the nearby Figari airport.
