Il Baglio della Sorgente was absolutely beautiful, outstanding - spacious, elegantly designed, and perfectly equipped with everything we could need. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. The pool and outdoor areas were stunning, with amazing scenery all around. Everyone was so kind and helpful, making our stay truly unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Would we return? Absolutely! We didn't even have the chance to enjoy every little corner of this amazing place!

Our stay at Il Baglio della Sorgente was absolutely wonderful. The villa is exquisite, spacious and very comfortable. All of its rooms could be individually temperature controlled. We could enjoy the beauty of the outdoors in its beautiful pool surrounded by orchards. We even chose to take our meals in the outdoor dining area, not only shaded but kept comfortable by a ceiling fan. We are a multi-generational family, 14 of us, ages 5 to 80. We ALL loved this place. It also came with an angel housekeeper. She not only fed us each morning with a bountiful breakfast, spoke perfect English, but ensured every detail of our relaxation was attended to. We are fortunate as a family to have been able to enjoy each other in some pretty nice places in the world but this was THE BEST! We used The Thinking Traveller’s in-house cooking team for three dinners and they were excellent. We couldn’t be more pleased with the Thinking Traveller but most of all, Il Baglio della Sorgente!

I don't want to advertise quite how good Baglio della Sorgente and its housekeeper are, just in case they get booked up! It's a great place with lovely people. Nothing was too much trouble. A big shout out to The Thinking Traveller team, too.

Il Baglio della Sorgente is stylish, relaxing, and comfortable. What stood out was the interior décor, the linens, the furnishing, and the air-conditioning. We appreciated the separation of the independent family house, and the amazing service provided by the housekeeper. Would we return? Yes, I feel the pricing was good value for the luxury and style on offer compared with some other villa experiences we have had. I feel the area of Sicily is quiet and will gradually become better known.

Il Baglio della Sorgente sits in the southeast of Sicily, just a few kilometres inland from the long stretches of sandy beach that line the coast from Scoglitti down to Punta Secca and Marina di Ragusa (Montalbano country).
Inland, just an easy drive away is Ragusa, one of several stunning baroque towns, including Modica, Scicli and Noto, that form the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Val di Noto. A more off-the-beaten-track town worth visiting is Chiaramonte Gulfi, which sits in a superbly panoramic position in the hills to the northeast. One architectural curiosity in the area is the fantastical Castello di Donnafugata.
Slightly further afield, though still within easy day-trip distance, are the historic towns of Caltagirone, known for its ceramics and its baroque centre, and Syracuse, an ancient Greek town, once the mightiest city in Magna Graecia. The world famous UNESCO World Heritage of Villa Romana del Casale, in Piazza Armerina, is also an easy drive away.

A helicopter trip in Sicily over Etna and to the Aeolian Islands is a highly moving experience, enough to reduce grown men and women to tears! Book with us for a truly unforgettable addition to your Sicilian holiday.

Nero D’Avola, Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Frappato, Syrah and Moscato Bianco are just a few of the grape varieties cultivated in the Noto area, and we heartily recommend a vineyard visit during your stay. We know the right people and the most prestigious wineries in the area, and we’d be delighted to arrange a chauffeured wine tasting tour with lunch for you.

From here until the southeasternmost tip of Sicily, the coastline is an uninterrupted stretch of sandy beach, dotted with picturesque little resort towns, including Punta Secca (Inspector Montalbano's home), Marina di Ragusa, Donnalucata, Cava d'Aliga, Sampieri and Marina di Modica. The last strip, made up of several miles of dunes, is where the Allied forces landed in the 2nd World War. At the southernmost tip of Sicily is Isola Delle Correnti, offering an almost African scenario. Indeed, here we are considerably further south than Tunis.Just around the southeastern tip and heading north up the east coast, are the beaches of Marzamemi, San Lorenzo and Vendicari Nature Reserve. The reserve's salt water lagoons and varieties of flora offer the ideal habitat for a wide range of fauna, including nesting turtles and migrating flamingos.Continuing up the east coast, between Vendicari and the historic Greek town of Syracuse, are the popular sandy beaches of Marina di Noto, Calabernado, Marina di Avola, Gelsomineto, Fontane Bianche and Arenella.
