I can’t wait to go back to Villa Blanca… it was an absolutely epic vacation with family… a truly one of a kind experience! It was so beautiful, warm, lovely, big enough for our large group, so much lounge area, the most beautiful view, and amazing chef - the best meals prepared daily… One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed.

Villa Blanca is a beautiful, relaxing site with stunning views and a cool vibe! What stood out was =the ability to be together - or find a more quiet space - all in one site. The housekeeper prepared awesome meals for communal dining al fresco!

Villa Blanca was the perfect setting for our multi generational family gathering. Our time together is very rare so we are glad the villa was so special. There was space for the children to play and the pool was brilliant. There were many table tennis and table football matches! The staff were amazing, and the housekeeper treated us as if we were one of the family. Her cooking was superb. The Thinking Traveller sets the standard to which other travel companies should aspire. Thanks for such a great holiday.

Our time at Villa Blanca was truely special. The relaxed vibe of the villa and town enabled us to slow down from the moment we arrived. The friendly, welcoming staff made us feel at home and amenities were outstanding, especially the pool area. The bedroom configuration was perfect for our extended family to be together but not in each others way. We would absolutely return to Villa Blanca with our family - our children and their partners plus grandchildren. It was the perfect location in every way.

Villa Blanca is located about 2km above Santa Maria di Leuca at the southernmost tip of the Salento peninsular, where the Ionian and Adriatic seas meet. The town has long been a magnet for the wealthy classes in Puglia, who came to build lavish seaside homes here in the early 20th century. The legacy of this is a superb collection of Liberty-style buildings, plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and gelaterie, a beach, and a large marina. Guest staying at Villa Blanca can walk into town, though there is quite a steep climb back and sections of the road are without pavement.
There are many fabulous sandy beaches, coves and grottos to explore within a 10-minute drive of Leuca. These can be even better visited from the water, and it is easy to arrange boat or yacht rentals in the marina.
Within easy driving distance is delightful Baroque Lecce, the fortified island town of Gallipoli and lovely Otranto.

The gastronomic traditions of the Salento are simply delicious, and deliciously simple. The area's fabulously tasty ingredients are given the space to speak for themselves, and local recipes are inextricably linked to the seasons.

Home to some of Italy's loveliest beaches and most dramatic rocky coastline, the Salento is a haven for sea lovers. From the southernmost tip near Leuca, running up the west coast to Gallipoli and beyond, is a vast, almost non-stop strip of paradisiacal golden sand and transparent azure waters. To the east, the Adriatic coastline is more varied, offering sandy beaches, Karstic grottoes, chalk cliffs and salt-water lagoons.

No trip to Salento would be complete without a wine tasting to discover the famous Negroamaro and Primitivo grapes accompanied by some local delicacies. As well as these spectacular local wines, Puglia is typified by the millions of ancient olive trees scattered across the region, which produce extra virgin olive oil of a spectacular quality. A guided tour will give you a fascinating insight into the secrets of its production.
