Inside

accommodation at Fiore Bianco is all on one floor and laid out in a practical way.

On the sea-facing side of the house, looking out towards the sparkling waters of the Ionian, is a welcoming communal room that’s been neatly divided into three distinct zones: to one end is the sitting area, furnished with a pair of comfortable sofas and an ottoman; in the centre is a wooden dining table; and to the far end, partly separated from the rest by a worktop with hobs, is the well-equipped kitchen. White walls, venerable sandy stone floors and muted soft furnishings create a tranquil atmosphere, while two sets of sliding glass doors and a French window allow the space to flow outside onto the shady terraces and the gardens beyond. All these features are repeated throughout the property, uniting the whole in a pleasingly stylistic homogeneity.

A corridor from the living area leads past a guest WC with shower to the four good-sized bedrooms, each one embellished by colourful Puglian ceramics on the walls:

• a double with sea and garden views, en-suite shower room, and access to terrace running along the front of the property
• a double with garden views, en-suite shower room, and access to a shared shady terrace to one side of the house
• a double-twin with garden views, en-suite shower room, and access to the shared shady terrace
• a double-twin with garden views, an en-suite shower room and access to a shady terrace at the back of the house

Outside

shady terraces wraparound Fiore Bianco, offering plenty of space for guests to unwind, repose and spend convivial times together.

To the front, looking out towards the sea and the idyllic beaches that run up and down the coast, is a colonnade topped with white-washed wooden beams and cane. Accessed from the communal space and the first bedroom, there is a comfortable sitting area and, just outside the kitchen, a dreamy al fresco dining area.

The other three bedrooms spill out onto two more shady terraces on either side of the house, meaning that everyone can retreat to their own quiet spot when they need a little private time.

Where the terraces end, a swathe of emerald lawn fans out for around one acre. Dotted with elegant palm trees whose fronds sway gently in the sea breeze, it is perfect for fun and games or leisurely strolls.

Sitting serenely amidst an area of decking, just a few steps from the sea-view terrace, meanwhile, is the refreshing pool.

If all that weren’t enough, Fiore Bianco holds two more aces up its sleeve. The first is the roof-top terrace, which comes with a shaded al fresco dining area and extraordinary views out over a little salt-water lake, the beach-flanked coastline, and the sea. Sunsets from here are breakthtaking. The second is a garden gate opening out onto a track. Follow it for around 300m, and you'll soon arrive at the soft white sands and the electric blue waters of Torre Pali beach. Once arrived, you'll understand why the locals refer to it as the Maldives.
