About the property
Inside
the main entrance at Filoxenia takes one into the large open plan living-dining room. Although it is spacious and comfortably furnished, the first thing you will notice, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling sliding windows, are the tremendous views of the sea and the Greek mainland. To the left of this lovely space is the kitchen which, along with the living area, accesses the huge main terrace overlooking the pool. To the right of the living area is a guest bathroom and the main double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with tub and shower attachment and access to the main terrace.A flight of stairs leads down from the living room to a large hall, off which are two twin bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms and a double with en-suite bathroom with tub and shower attachment. One of the twins accesses a panoramic sea-view terrace, while the double opens out into the gardens. Everything about the house is airy, spacious, practical and comfortable.
Outside
with its superb views, comfy rattan sofa and chairs and shaded dining table, the huge main terrace soon becomes the preferred gathering point for groups staying at Filoxenia. Steps lead down from here to a second terrace (also accessed by two of the bedrooms on the lower ground floor) and onto the infinity pool, which seems suspended above the sparkling sea. For those who enjoy a dip in the big blue, a 2-minute walk along the road will take you to the rocky coast and the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea.EOT Licence No. 0829K91000375000
About the Area
Filoxenia is situated just a couple of minutes' walk from a beach and a 5-minute drive from the charming harbour village of Gaios.
Paxos (measuring around 13km from north to south) is situated 15km south of Corfu and about 20km off the Greek mainland. It boasts some of the most stunning beaches anywhere in the Mediterranean and, as it's only accessible by ferry, has managed to remain relatively unspoilt by mass tourism.
Its three main villages, Gaios, Lakka and Laggos, are picturesque, welcoming little ports with idyllic seafront tavernas, shops and bars. Gaios is the port of entry and departure, and also has frequent boat services to Paxos' tiny sister island, Antipaxos.
The western seaboard of Paxos is dramatic, with cliffs, sea caves and stretches of rugged, rocky coastline, while the east coast is home to gentle sandy beaches and views of the Greek mainland. The hinterland is carpeted with olive groves, which produce some truly excellent oil.
A holiday on Paxos is all about relaxing and taking it easy, all the more so if you book one of our villas on the island.

Considerations
Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.
The number of steps that must be negotiated to get into and/or around this property might make it unsuitable for people with mobility problems.
Depending on the direction of the wind, traffic noise may occasionally be audible in certain areas of the grounds.
Due to the relatively limited number of hydrofoil/ferry connections between Corfu and Paxos in the shoulder seasons, we recommend arriving in Corfu by midday or, alternatively, adding a night in Corfu town the day before and/or after your time in Paxos.
Please note that due to the risk of wildfires, the use of fire pits and barbecues is restricted when the weather is windy or temperatures are high. This is particularly common in July and August. More information will be provided in your House Guide and via your local specialist.

Filoxenia is in a fantastic location and has an iconic view. It's a lovely house with four well-appointed rooms. It's very quiet inside and out, even with three tweenagers in the house! It's perfectly placed and is in easy walking distance to two beaches. Overall, a fantastic holiday house in a beautiful setting.
