Ondine is a beautiful villa. We loved the terrace and pool area where we spent most of our time. The village of Vathi was just 15 minutes walk or 10 minutes by boat. Having direct sea access was a big highlight for swimming in the warm sea, and using the kayaks. The house was very well equipped for a group of friends. The experience was hugely helped by the Local Specialist who is incredibly helpful, professional and friendly. Overall we loved it so much we are returning next year.

We had been once before to Ondine and our return heightened our sense that this is a really special place. The views are stunning and the villa itself has all we could wish for. It's an ideal place to relax in enchanting surroundings. Would we return? Yes, yes! It could easily become a sort of second home.

The location, space and facilities of Ondine tick all of our boxes. We would return. We keep going back to the same area because The Thinking Traveller villas there come with sea access, are walkable to town, and offer privacy but plenty of restaurants and activities available. Which combined with the amazing service from the Local Specialist on Meganissi (as well as the team in London) makes for a pretty special experience.

Ondine's location was lovely. The villa itself was well presented and laid out. The garden area was lovely and the outdoor fans were a great addition. Having screens on the windows is great as well.

The Area
Ondine is situated above a stunning bay on the north coast of Meganissi, just a 15-minute walk from the seafront tavernas, shops and harbour of Vathi. This superb position may mean you will not wander too far from your comfortable surroundings, but should you wish to, Meganissi and its neighbouring island, Lefkada, are eminently visitable in a week and there are numerous bays and shingle beaches to explore.
Meganissi covers just 20 square kilometres but has plenty to offer, with numerous bays and beaches to explore, sleepy white-washed villages, such as Katomeri or Spartochori, to wander around and lots of good walking paths in the centre of the island.
The two main harbours of Vathi and Spilia are great spots for dining on fish, whiling away an hour or two with a drink in hand or setting out on one of the frequent ferries to visit other islands in the Ionian archipelago.
