Port Assistance
Our trusted car hire partner is just a five-minute walk from the ferry disembarkation point, conveniently located just outside the port’s traffic-restricted zone. Your car will be ready and waiting for you on arrival.
In-villa delivery
If you don't want to drive at the beginning or end of your holiday, we can organise a private port or airport transfer for your group, then have your rental car brought to the villa when you're ready to start exploring or arrange a pick-up from there before you depart.
Disclaimers
Driving Licence Requirements:
- All drivers must hold a valid driving licence and be between the ages of 21 and 75, with at least three years of driving experience.
- If you do not hold a UK or EU licence, you may be required by local authorities to obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP). This is typically straightforward to arrange—contact the authority that issued your licence to request the relevant application form.
Insurance and Damage Coverage:
- Basic Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance does not cover damage to tyres, wheels, clutch, undercarriage, interior, windscreens, glass, or mirrors.
- Theft Protection covers the vehicle itself but does not include personal belongings left inside.
Responsibility and Disputes:
- The Thinking Traveller acts as an introducer to car hire companies and cannot mediate or negotiate on your behalf in the event of any damage, disputes, or disagreements with the rental provider.
We strongly recommend reading the full terms and conditions of your car hire agreement upon booking and prior to collecting your vehicle.
