During the shoulder seasons, Thalina has a reduced price for a group of up to 4 that only need up to 2 bedrooms. The guest rooms and the double bedroom on the lower floor of the main house will be closed, but the rest of the villa, its amenities and its grounds will remain at the complete disposal of guests.

Inside

accommodation at Thalina is laid out over a main house on two floors and two externally accessed guest bedrooms.

The front door of the main house opens into a bright, tranquil living area. A large, well-cushioned, L-shaped sofa and a mid-century-modern easy chair gaze out at restful countryside views. A pair of French doors allow the space to flow outside onto an al fresco lounge terrace. The colour scheme is in soft cream and white, with wooden elements and hints of grey-blue.

An opening to the left of the front door provides access to a clean-cut, well-equipped contemporary kitchen, whose soft, blonde wooden cabinetry and creamy marble continues the palette encountered in the living room. French doors open out onto a secluded terrace with a shady al fresco kitchen and dining area.

On either side of the central living room is a bedroom:

• a triple-aspect double with countryside views, an en-suite shower room, and access to the al fresco lounge terrace
• a panoramic double with countryside views, an en-suite shower room, and access to a terrace that connects with the al fresco lounge area

Behind the sofa in the living area, a flight of stairs leads down to the lower floor, which hosts the housekeeper's quarters, a guest WC, a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and access to a stairwell leading up to the terraces, and a sitting area.

The two externally accessed guest bedrooms – both doubles with en-suite shower rooms, views out over the pool and the surrounding countryside, and French doors opening out onto a panoramic terrace - are located just a few metres from the main house.

Outside

Thalina has been designed with al fresco living in mind, and there are numerous terraces on which to relax, cook, dine, swim, and gaze out at the restful views. Walls in local stone delimit and seclude the various areas, which are linked by steps and paved paths and bordered by fragrant, low-lying shrubs, ornamental grasses, and flowering plants. Due to the property's elevation, cooling breezes provide welcome ventilation during the summer months.

The living area and the two upper-floor bedrooms of the main house open out onto a sheltered, cane-shaded lounge terrace with a pair of sofas. Offering views out over the pool, the grounds, and the undulating hills of Antiparos, this is a great spot for quiet times chatting or reading.

French doors in the kitchen of main house access a voluminous, cane-shaded terrace with a convivial dining area served by an al fresco kitchen with barbecue, plenty of worktop space, fridges, and a sink.

Continuing along this terrace, one soon comes to the plunge pool, an inviting oasis surrounded by plenty of well-cushioned, built-in seating and another large, cane-shaded lounge area.

Steps outside the front door of the main house, meanwhile, lead up to a superbly panoramic roof-top terrace, which surveys the surrounding countryside and much of northern Antiparos. It is here that you might wish to enjoy an aperitif or two while watching the sun set into the Aegean Sea.

Steps lead down through the gardens from both the main house and the terrace outside the independent guest bedrooms to the main pool, an 18m-long expanse of irresistible aquamarine water surrounded by sun-kissed terraces, a sunken sitting area, and a large, shaded social space with sofas, a dining table, a bar with barbecue, sink and fridges, and a shower and WC.

On the lower floor of the main house there is a children's bedroom with two bunk beds. This may used on prior request, but please note that the maximum occupancy remains 10, children included.

Due to the nature of the property, including terraces, low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.

The number of steps that must be negotiated to get around this property might make it unsuitable for people with limited mobility.

The final section of the access to Thalina is via a dirt road, so we recommend guests hire a 4x4 or one with high ground clearance.

As this villa is located on an island without an airport, we recommend extra caution when booking your flights to avoid problems or delays with ferries and hydrofoils. It may be advisable to arrive a day earlier and depart a day later. Please contact us for any information or advice.

Please note that due to the risk of wildfires, the use of fire pits and barbecues is restricted when the weather is windy or temperatures are high. This is particularly common in July and August. More information will be provided in your House Guide and via your local specialist.
