NB: A double-twin bedroom has two single beds that can either be joined together to create a double bed or left separate as two single beds.

Inside

accommodation at Hecate is laid out over a main house on two floors, a pair of externally accessed guest bedrooms, and a separate pool house.

Sliding glass doors open into the living area of the main house from the surrounding walled courtyard gardens. This bright, airy space provides our first glimpse of the aesthetic style of the property, most specifically in the soft, textured white-stone flooring, the integrated lighting, and the number of windows (six in this room) that out onto the various terraces. In one corner is a large, L-shaped sofa topped with colourful cushions, and in the other a wall-mounted TV. 

A door leads from this space into a fully equipped kitchen with beautifully finished, bespoke wooden cabinetry, black worktops, a central island and seamless access to a pair of terraces.

A door in the kitchen opens into a corridor with access to a panoramic terrace and the first two bedrooms:

• a principal bedroom, a super-spacious double with access to the main courtyard, and a generous en-suite bathroom with double sinks and a large, square, wall-to wall tub with overhead shower
• a double bedroom with en-suite shower room

Stairs lead down from the kitchen to the lower floor, which is home to:

• a children's bedroom with a bunk bed, a single bed and an en-suite shower room
• a charming children's playroom with an adjacent shower room

Both of these rooms open out onto little courtyards with steps leading up to the main terraces.

The two guest bedrooms are accessed from the terraces surrounding the main house. Both are doubles with en-suite shower rooms.

The accommodation at Hecate is completed by the pool house, which is located between the main house and the pool area. It comprises a central hallway, a kitchenette, and two double-twin bedrooms, each with an en-suite shower room.

Outside

life at Hecate is meant to be lived outside, and as much thought has gone into the design of the exteriors as to the interiors. Al fresco pleasures abound, and there are seemingly infinite possibilities for lounging, gathering for aperitifs, swimming, dining, working out, and gazing at the views over Antiparos.

In the main house, the living area, the kitchen, the principal bedroom and one of the guest rooms all flow out directly onto a fabulous walled courtyard garden that develops over 375m2. Secluded by immaculate high walls in bronzed and grey local stone, and enlivened by a bounty of vivid greenery, exotic palm trees and colourful flora, this dreamy space incorporates: a large, shady dining area served by an outdoor kitchen with barbecue to one side; a comfortably cushioned sitting area next to a convivial bar to the other; and, in the centre, a gorgeous plunge pool flanked by a large, comfy, built-in lounge area.

An opening to one side of this courtyard leads through to a panoramic, cane-shaded terrace between the kitchen and the guest bedrooms. Furnished with easy chairs and a table, this is the perfect spot for lazy breakfasts and mid-morning coffees. A few steps lead down to yet another terrace with a tantalising glimpse of the sea. 

Easy steps lead down through the naturally planted gardens and past the pool house, which has its own shady terrace, to the magnificent, multi-dimensional pool area. To one side is a voluminous, well-shaded social space with an expanse of comfy seating, a dining table, a long bar clad with dark turquoise tiles, and a changing room with WC and shower. 

In the centre is the fabulous, 17m-long pool and a line-up of quality sun loungers, while on the far side is a well-equipped, cane-shaded outdoor gym. Last but not least, down a few steps, is another shady sitting area and a table tennis table.

Due to the nature of the property, including terraces, low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.

The number of steps that must be negotiated to get around this property might make it unsuitable for people with limited mobility.

The final section of the access to Hecate is via a dirt road, so we recommend guests hire a 4x4 or one with high ground clearance.

As this villa is located on an island without an airport, we recommend extra caution when booking your flights to avoid problems or delays with ferries and hydrofoils. It may be advisable to arrive a day earlier and depart a day later. Please contact us for any information or advice.

Please note that due to the risk of wildfires, the use of fire pits and barbecues is restricted when the weather is windy or temperatures are high. This is particularly common in July and August. More information will be provided in your House Guide and via your local specialist.
