Reduced Occupancy
During the shoulder seasons, Fontana has a reduced price for a group of up to 4 that only need up to 2 bedrooms. The bedrooms not required will be closed, but the rest of the villa, its amenities and its grounds will remain at the complete disposal of guests. If unspecified, the best bedrooms will be prepared for you.About the property
Inside
accommodation at Fontana is arranged over two floors. The ground floor is given over to the sleeping quarters, comprising four bedrooms: the main double with en-suite bathroom with tub, shower and w/c; two double-twins sharing a shower room on the opposite side of the corridor; and a second double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower and sink. These last three bedrooms share a w/c accessed from the corridor.All the bedrooms have wonderful sea views and large sliding glass doors opening onto a panoramic terrace. A flight of stairs leads up to the first floor, which is home to a large open-concept space comprising a living area with comfy sofas, a dining area, a contemporary fitted kitchen.
Lofty, white-painted beamed ceilings create an airy atmosphere, while a series of large sliding glass doors brings in the light and the wonderful sea views and provides seamless access to the fabulous terrace beyond.
Outside
al fresco life at Fontana revolves around the superbly panoramic first floor terrace accessed from the kitchen and living and dining areas. Blessed with stunning views over Palombaggia bay, this terrace offers a shady al fresco dining area served by a barbecue, a comfortable outdoor sitting area and a large expanse for teak decking wrapping round the sublime infinity pool.Steps to one side connect the terrace to the parking area, from where one may begin one's stroll down to the irresistible beaches of Palombaggia. Outdoor space is completed by a panoramic sea-view terrace on the ground floor, accessed from each of the bedrooms.
About the Area
Fontana is located in the southeast of Corsica, just a few kilometres south of Porto Vecchio, one of the islands most charming towns. Just a few minutes' drive below the villa are some splendid beaches, including the long expanses of white sand and shallow, crystalline waters of Palombaggia and Tamaricciu. A few minutes more in the car heading south and you will arrive at the glorious semi-circular bay and beach of Santa Giulia.
Nearby Porto Vecchio offers a great deal, including a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a nice old town centre looking over the large natural harbour.
30km south of Fontana is beautiful Bonifacio, one of Corsica's most dramatically positioned and picturesque towns. Teetering perilously on a high cliff above the sea it offers sublime views over to Sardinia. Meanwhile, just over an hour's drive west is the panoramically positioned, medieval town of Sartène, whose pretty labyrinth of streets gives an idea of Corsican life away from the coastline.
Further afield is the island's capital, Ajaccio, which is well worth a visit, not least so you can say that you've been to the birthplace of the great Napoleon.
Considerations
Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.

It is hard to describe how breathtaking the view from Fontana overlooking the Mediterranean bay is. We particularly enjoyed the design of the villa, which features two floors, making it easy for our family of five adults to spend time together while also providing enough space and privacy for each guest. The comfortable sofas and large tables made it especially enjoyable to gather, relax, and interact as a family. We also greatly appreciated the kitchen area, particularly the plancha, as well as the high-quality equipment and crockery, which we used extensively throughout our stay. What brought us back to book our holiday with Thinking Traveller for a second time was the confidence that we would not have to worry about unpleasant surprises with our holiday rental and could truly relax. Once again, Thinking Traveller delivered on that promise.

The views from Fontana are incredible and the pool as well, one of the few heated pools that was actually well heated. Would we return? Yes.

Fontana is a great villa. What stood out was the upper floor, the pool and the view. Also, the location is perfect to explore the south corner of Corsica! For us as family it was a perfect spot. Corsica is a lovely island with outstanding beaches and food. Our stay was all very well organized, local support including. It was our first time in Corsica, but definitely not or last visit. For sure I will check out Thinking Travellers next time we plan vacations.
