Reduced Occupancy

During the shoulder seasons, Canella has a reduced price for a group of up to 10 that only need up to 5 bedrooms. The dependence would be closed in this case but the rest of the villa, its amenities and its grounds will remain at the complete disposal of guests.

Inside

accommodation at Canella is spread a main house on two levels (not connected internally) and a separate guesthouse in the gardens.

The first floor is the sociable hub of Canella. At the heart is a welcoming open-plan space that is rendered wonderfully luminous by three large sliding glass doors, which also bring in the magical sea views and allow the internal space to flow outside, not least onto the long shaded terrace that runs along the entire façade of the house. A bespoke dining table sits to one side and a pair of comfy sofas to the other.

A breakfast bar with stools separates the sitting area from a smart, well-equipped modern kitchen, which is served by a large utility room.

A door from near the sitting area opens into a little corridor, off which one may access a shower room, a separate WC, and two bedrooms: a double with sea views and access to the large shaded terrace, and a twin.

External steps lead down from near the shaded terrace to the ground floor, which is home to three more bedrooms: two doubles and a twin. Each is accessed independently from a sea-view terrace, and each has its own modern en-suite shower room (one of which is up a few steps from the sleeping area).

The guesthouse, which is situated a few metres across a terrace from the ground floor bedrooms of the main house, is home to: a comfortably furnished open-plan living area with dining table, kitchen, sea views, and glass doors opening out onto a terrace; and a double bedroom with en-suite shower room.

Outside

Canella's terraces, gardens and grounds are all about the sea views, which are omnipresent (the only caveat to this is if you face west and gaze towards the awe-inspiring forested mountains). Spread over various levels, linked by steps and paths, and planted naturally with Corsica's scented maquis, they are a joy to explore.

A large decked sea-view terrace, most of which is shaded, runs along the front of the first floor. Accessed from the communal area and the double bedroom, it is here that guests spend much of their time, gazing out to sea, relaxing with a book, sipping on a morning coffee and dining al fresco (though there is a second shaded outdoor dining area to one side of the house).

Steps lead down from beside this terrace to a large gravelled terrace with more of those sea views. Furnished with a hammock and some tables and chairs, it is from here that one accesses the three ground floor bedrooms of the main house.

Finally, a pair of paths lead down through the gardens to the rocky shoreline below, where guests have the limpid waters of the Tyrrhenian pretty much to themselves.

Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.

Please note that this villa does not have a pool.

Two of the sea access points in front of this property are via rocks and so may not be possible to use if the sea is rough. These are also immediately deep and therefore not ideal for less confident swimmers. Alternatively, the beautiful sandy bay and shallow waters of Plage de Canella is a 2-minute stroll away
