Casina Cinquepozzi is located just a couple of kilometres outside the beautiful town of Putignano in the north of the Valle d'Itria.
Perhaps most famous for its amazing carnevale celebrations, Putignano boasts a gorgeous old centre that's packed with fine buildings, piazzas, labyrinthine streets, restaurants, cafés, bars and shops, and it's a great place to spend time in.
Just 10 minutes' drive northeast, meanwhile, is Castellana Grotte, whose remarkable cave complex comprises over 3km of subterranean paths, cathedral-high chambers, stalactites and much more, all running about 60m below ground.
A short drive east will take you to the Adriatic coast and the gorgeous towns of Polignano a Mare and Monopoli. Both have lovely old town centres and the former is particularly famous for its beach, carved out from the surrounding cliffs. Monopoli has a thriving street market and some fine historical buildings.
The coastline south of Monopoli offers a seemingly endless choice of little beaches, many of which have chic lidos with loungers, umbrellas, bars and restaurants.
Heading south, the gentle hills of the Valle d'Itria wrap around the magical towns of Alberobello (a UNESCO Heritage Site thanks to its wonderful trulli-laden centre), Locorotondo, Cisternino, Martina Franca, and, further south, the white city of Ostuni. All offer plenty to see, regular markets, as well as a good selection of bars, shops, and restaurants.
World class sites a little further afield include the stunning baroque centre of Lecce, and, in the neighbouring region of Basilicata, the ancient, highly evocative town of Matera.
For golf enthusiasts, meanwhile, Casina Cinquepozzi is only 30km from an 18-hole golf course in Savelletri.
From the Guest Book

My stay at Casina Cinquepozzi was exceptional. The house is incredible, such a beautiful design and I loved that all the bedrooms were different. The chef Olivero was just phenomenal, he's worked in many Michelin restaurants around the world and the meals were restaurant quality, better than anything I have ever experienced in a villa and most of the produce is grown on site. We all loved the lounge bar in the evening and the pool was great and a lovely breeze while we were there.

Our visit to Casina Cinquepozzi was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped into the property, we immediately felt a sense of calm and relaxation thanks to the wonderfully private and peaceful grounds. The interiors are truly unique, and the attention to detail second to none. We were thoroughly spoiled and pampered by the staff, and the delicious meals prepared by Oliviero were out of this world. We would return in a heartbeat!

Estate of Living - an 18th-century fortified masseria in Puglia has dropped its guard to become a grand domain of Nigerian art and contemporary Italian design... Inside, the spaces on the first floor - the piano nobile - are exquisite... The wallpaper, spanning from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries, is a flurry of floral flock patterns and the restored ceilings are decorated with delicate scroll, floral and lace motifs. Contemporary furniture, such as a Bubble sofa by Roche Bobois, bespoke mirrors by local, Peppino Campanella, and a glittering modern chandelier keep it all in the present... As a jewellery designer, co-owner Thelma West has an understanding of proportion and palette, and these rooms are jewel-like in their intensity... We're fed by Oliviero Ghiyassodin, a charming and knowledgeable chef who works for the family, and while we could have requested our own menu, who tells an Italian in Italy what to cook?... I leave knowing that Cinquepozzi is on the cusp of something epic and with a pang of envy for the guests who will lie by the pool, rosé in hand, listening to the rustle of the wheat.

In short…A seriously smart 18th-century manor house in and around the golden farmlands and trulli-topped fields of Puglia’s countryside. The vibe… The casina is meant to be lived in, loved and celebrated. Days are easygoing, starting with a romp through their olive groves and regenerative farmlands where cherry and fig trees ripen, a dip in the pool, a pilates session, or reading under the cedar trees. Meals can be cooked for you or by you – Puglian tomatoes, local cheese, aforementioned orecchiette… It’s an Italian home away from home, but a very nice one at that. The surroundings… Set away from too much noise, the 10-bed masseria is remote enough for privacy and independence, but not too far from some of Puglia’s prettiest spots for a swim or a boat ride. The rooms… Each is immensely beautiful, but different in its detail, respecting the objects Thelma and Stefano found when they first saw them.

There’s a new spot sure to make the A-list, aristos and artists alike enter an oasis-like state when travelling down to the heel of Italy’s ‘boot’ (Puglia). Introducing Casina Cinquepozzi, a 300-year old farmhouse and villa nestled in the rolling fields of Putignano, now revived, refreshed and regaled in seismic splendour - which opens for bookings this week. It’s heritage, horticulture and haute couture accoutrements combined. And there’s little wonder why - the power couple behind the sprawling home’s phoenix-like rise from the ashes is none other than London-based jewellery designer Thelma West and her former Apple-heavyweight beau, Stefano Liotta.

Casina Cinquepozzi is an exclusive-use 18th century Manor House set on an extensive 40-acre estate in the heart of Putignano, Puglia. Neapolitan and Nigerian owners, Thelma West - a renowned jewelry designer and Stefano Liotta discovered Casina Cinquepozzi and instantly fell head over heels in love and began their quest to bring this forgotten home back to life. Seduced by country life and a passion for sustainability, the two-year restoration project has been passionately led by the couple to restore the soulful and historic property with meticulous care, stone by stone. The ten-bedroom manor house is spread across three floors and features expansive living spaces to sleep up to 24 guests. With 55 rooms in total, Casina Cinquepozzi is highly unique among Puglia’s traditional Masserias, with each space designed to surprise, reflecting a rich sense of beauty and individuality. Inspired and deeply connected to Nigerian and Neapolitan culture, Stefano and Thelma are committed to celebrating art, culture and gastronomy and have created an Artist’s Residence dedicated to collaborative cultural projects for Chefs and Artisans to stay and create. The expansive estate will also feature an outdoor swimming pool, Pilates space and former pigsty that has been eccentrically restored into a wine cellar.
