From a shaded area of decking, a sliding glass door opens into the hub of the home, a welcoming open-plan space that sets the tone for the property as a whole.

Smooth, sandy floors, white walls, and curvaceous, lofty vaulted ceilings in creamy tufa stone (a material that has been sourced on the island since Roman times) combine to create a soft, tranquil atmosphere that infuses all the rooms with a sense of well-being. Furnishings are a subtle mix of antiques and modern, while the lighting and the decorative pieces blend contemporary flourishes, reclaimed timber adornments, colourful Sicilian ceramics, and sculptural driftwood informality.

To one side is a sea-view dining table and a well-equipped kitchen, while to the other is a comfortably furnished sitting area with a white sofa and a selection of easy chairs. On the left, another wall of sliding glass doors opens out onto a side terrace.

Accessed from the living area via a short corridor (with guest WC), is the principal bedroom, a generously spacious double with sea views, terrace access, a spacious en-suite shower room, and a study area. 

The remaining two bedrooms are accessed externally to one side of the property. Both doubles, they have en-suite shower rooms and share a shady terrace.

Outside

al fresco life at La Brucatina revolves around the sea-facing side of the property, and it is here (when you're not at the beach or exploring lovely Favignana) that you will spend most of your time.

Accessed via a wide sliding glass door from the open-plan communal area is a well-shaded, decked terrace that's been furnished for lazy lounging and gazing out to sea. A wide-open gravel area leads to a second sitting area with cushioned, built-in seating.

A decked walkway skirts around the side of the property, before arriving at a sheltered and shaded area of terrace that concludes outside the two externally accessed bedrooms.

Bougainvillea, dwarf palms and other characteristically Sicilian flora enliven the ambience with dashes of colour and exoticism.

Please note that while La Brucatina does not have a pool, the nearest sea access is only 50m away.

This property is located in a residential area and therefore has neighbours.

Part of the external area is overlooked.

As La Brucatina is located on an island, so we recommend extra caution when booking your flights to avoid problems or delays with ferries and hydrofoils. It may be advisable to arrive a day earlier and depart a day later. Please contact us for any information or advice.
