The Area
Corti dell'Eremia sits above the dramatic gorge of the Irminio river, which joins the sea some 5km to the south. The property is ideally located for those who love both lazing by the sea and exploring fascinating, historic towns.
The sandy beach and seaside town of Marina di Ragusa is just a 15-minute drive away and there are many other options along the coast (including at Plaja Grande, Donnalucata, Cava d'Aliga, Punta Secca and Sampieri) that are between a 15- and a 25-minute drive away. The beaches in the area of Marina di Ragusa have received several consecutive Blue Flags, attesting to the cleanliness of the water and their general ecological excellence.
In terms of beautiful towns oozing history, Corti dell'Eremia could hardly be better placed: the UNESCO-protected Baroque pearls of Scicli, Modica, Ragusa and Noto. Syracuse is also within easy driving distance as are the quiet beaches of the Nature Reserve at Vendicari.
Finally, for fans of Montalbano, a visit to Punta Secca, home to the Inspector's house, is a must.
