Inside

accommodation at Leucasia is laid out over one floor with a few split level rooms.

The main entrance opens into a hallway, off which one may access both wings of the house. Straight on is the generously proportioned, split-level open-concept communal area. The architectural and interior design aesthetics of the property are fully on show in this space, which features terracotta tiled floors, white walls and angular, geometric ceilings that hint at 1970s modernism. On the upper level is a sofa and a dining table, while down a few steps is the living area proper. A couple of comfy white sofas are gathered around a fireplace, and an uncluttered but eclectic mix of antique furniture, classic and contemporary lighting, and vibrantly coloured Puglian ceramics provide interest and colour. The main focus of this space, however, is undoubtedly the wall of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors which drink in the glorious views of Leuca and the sea while at the same time allowing seamless access to the al fresco areas.

An opening to one side of the dining area on the upper level leads in to the kitchen, a stylish, Zen-like space with bespoke fitted cabinetry, top quality appliances, double-aspect sea views, and French doors opening out onto the surrounding terraces, both front and back.

Heading back to the main entrance, a corridor leads to the sleeping quarters:

• a spacious double-twin bedroom (down a couple of steps from the corridor) with sea views, access to the terraces via a couple more steps, and, across the corridor, a shower room
• a second double-twin bedroom (down a couple of steps from the corridor) with sea views, terrace access via a couple more steps, and, across the corridor a bathroom with tub and shower attachment
• at the end of the corridor, meanwhile, a door opens into a suite with a sitting area with terrace access, a shower room, and a double-twin room with sea views and terrace access via a few steps.

Outside

Leucasia sits amidst 2.5 acres of private gardens and wrap-around terraces, which offer an abundance of space for al fresco living.

All the bedrooms and communal spaces open out onto an extensive sweep of stone terraces that develops over several stages to the side and the front of the house. Ubiquitous views fan out over the sea, Leuca, the emerald coastal hills, and the iconic lighthouse that marks the southernmost tip of the Italian peninsula.

Immediately outside the living area is a large shaded sitting area with built-in cushioned seating. A few steps from here is a shaded al fresco dining area, conveniently located near to the kitchen.

Weaving past whispering olive trees and colourful flower beds delimited by low dry-stone walls, a path leads down to the curvaceous, zero-edge infinity pool. To one side is an expanse of lawn with a shady sail and a sitting area, while to the other is a large belvedere, furnished for lounging, sun-worshipping, and gazing out at the magnificent panoramas. Near the pool, there are a couple of other secluded shady spots on different levels.

The rest of the grounds are given over to olive groves with paths wending through and around them.

Leucasia features a fantastic infinity pool, offering swimmers stunning views while in the pool. There is a drop off the infinity side so we recommend children are supervised at all times. Please refer to our general safety page if you would like more information about infinity pools.
