Inside

accommodation at Serayna is organised over three floors. The house has the welcoming atmosphere of a well-loved, well-lived-in home. Classically styled, with colonial touches here and there, it has an understated, unostentatious sense of luxury: everything has been thought of to ensure the comfort of guests, and the quality of the bespoke fittings and fixtures is evident throughout. A neutral palette, including white-painted floorboards, provides a discreet backdrop for furniture and features in warm wooden hues and a liberal scattering of colourful artworks.

The main entrance, an impressive wooden door, leads in to a welcoming, comfortably furnished living area divided in two parts, with a sofa and a couple of armchairs to one side, and a pair of sofas gathered round a fireplace to the other. A pair of French windows open out to the sea-view terraces and gardens, and an opening leads into the dining room, which also flows out onto the sea-view terraces. Behind the dining area is the well-equipped country-style kitchen, complete with a large range, central island and access to a vegetable and herb garden.

Back in the living room, a staircase leads down to the lower ground floor, which is home to:

• a double-twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and doors opening out onto a side terrace
• a double with four-poster bed, en-suite shower room and access to the side terraces
• a guest WC

The stairs in the living room also lead up to the split-level first floor, which is home to the remaining accommodation:

• a double bedroom with a private terrace, and a smaller double sharing an en-suite Jack-and-Jill bathroom with walk-in shower and separate tub
• the generously proportioned main double bedroom (up a few more steps) with en-suite shower room, walk-in wardrobe, a couple of armchairs next to a fireplace, and a large, magnificently panoramic private terrace surveying the gardens, the pool and the sea

Outside

Serayna is immersed in extensive, luxuriant and beautifully tended gardens, whose shady pines, whispering olive trees, blooming bougainvillea and aromatic shrubs offer up a feast for the senses. The perimeter is planted with towering cypresses and other mature trees, ensuring privacy, seclusion and tranquillity, and there are numerous spots in which to while away days and evenings and plenty of scope for fun, games and entertainment.

On the sea-facing side of the house, the living and dining rooms open out onto a wide expanse of sea-view terrace, which includes shaded sitting and dining areas. Furnished with high quality, well-cushioned rattan sofas and armchairs, it is finished, like all the terraces and paths, in gorgeous terracotta paving in a herring bone pattern.

To the left of this area (when looking out to sea) is a large expanse of emerald lawn, on the other side of which is a second shaded living terrace, this time with the added bonus of a pull-down cinema screen and projector.

Steps lead down from the al fresco dining area to the gorgeous 18m-long infinity pool, which, like most of the grounds, offers captivating views out to sea. The pool area is served by a large shaded pavilion with built-in seating and a large bar-cum-outdoor kitchen.

More steps, bordered by stone walls and a polychromatic, fragrant array of flowering plants and shrubs, lead down from the pool area, past another large expanse of lawn, and on to the sea gate. From there, just a hop, skip and a jump across a little track, is an idyllic stretch of golden sand, the limpid waters of the Aegean, and the property's jetty. Used by hardly anyone else, the beach is virtually, if not technically, private.

Back up at the house, more al fresco pleasures await. The lower ground floor bedrooms open out onto secluded terraces which link up with those to the front of the house. Similarly, the first double bedroom has its own panoramic terrace looking out over the gardens, the pool and the sea. Befittingly, the main bedroom has the best of all, both in terms of space and views.

Just outside the kitchen is a vegetable and herb garden and then, crossing another terrace, is the fabulous tennis court.

Serayna features a fantastic infinity pool, offering swimmers stunning views while in the pool. There is a drop off the infinity side so we recommend children are supervised at all times. Please refer to our general safety page if you would like more information about infinity pools.

Please note, that there's a hotel around the headland from Serayna. While being some 150m away, it is partly visible from the grounds of the villa.

Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.

The number of steps that must be negotiated to get into and/or around this property might make it unsuitable for people with mobility problems.

Because of natural changes to the coastline from season to season, the sandy beach in front of this property may not look as it does in the photos.

Please note that due to the risk of wildfires, the use of fire pits and barbecues is restricted when the weather is windy or temperatures are high. This is particularly common in July and August. More information will be provided in your House Guide and via your local specialist.
