Ion and its location was exactly how it was sold to us. We would return.

Ion was fantastic, a very special place to spend a wonderful family holiday. What stood out was the outdoor area, the direct access to the sea, the pool and being so close to lovely Vathy.

The location of Ion was superb. The outside space of the villa was equally superb, and was a perfectly backdrop for a wonderfully relaxed and comfortable stay. We would return.

The setting, outdoor space and views at Ion were magical! The outdoor kitchen and private pontoon were the highlights. Would we return? Yes, the outdoor setup can't be beat! The privacy, the outdoor kitchen, the views - it was heaven! We also love Meganissi and how peaceful and relaxing it is.

Ion is situated above secluded Balou Bay on the north coast of Meganissi, just a 20-minute walk from the seafront tavernas, shops and harbour of Vathi. This superb position may mean you will not wander too far from your comfortable surroundings, but should you wish to, Meganissi and its neighbouring island, Lefkada, are eminently visitable in a week and there are numerous bays and shingle beaches to explore.
Meganissi covers just 20 square kilometres but has plenty to offer, with numerous bays and beaches to explore, sleepy white-washed villages, such as Katomeri or Spartohori, to wander around and lots of good walking paths in the centre of the island.
The two main harbours of Vathi and Spilia are great spots for dining on fish, whiling away an hour or two with a drink in hand or setting out on one of the frequent ferries to visit other islands in the Ionian archipelago.

The north of Meganissi is home to a seemingly endless array of dreamy bays with transparent blue waters, golden beaches, and emerald pinewoods. The best way to explore them is by boat, and you have two options: either rent your own with the help of our Local Concierges (they know all the best people); or let our experienced Specialists arrange a day or two on board one of our skippered charters. The sense of freedom you experience from cruising around, dropping anchor, and diving into the irresistible sea is like nothing else.

A holiday in the sun would not be complete without exploring the breath-taking coastline, majestic cliffs and glistening azure sea that your destination has to offer. The best way to experience this spectacle is from your very own rental boat, pottering along at a leisurely pace and occasionally stopping off to drop anchor and swim in secluded bays.
