The Area
Villa Ella sits in a panoramic position in the southeast of Lefkada above buzzing Sivota harbour, whose popular waterfront tavernas, cafés and boat hire options are within walking distance down a country path (about 500m) or a 3-minute drive.
Also within a short drive of Villa Ella is a good selection of beaches, including those at Afteli, Ammousa, Vassiliki and Mikros Gialos.
Exploring the island of Lefkada, which is 35km long and 15km wide, is relatively easy in a week (if you can pull yourselves away from the views and pool of the villa!) and offers a great deal to see and do. The azure, transparent waters of the Ionian Sea are a real attraction and the varied coastline includes a host of golden sandy beaches and the dramatic white cliffs Cape Lefkatas on the southern tip. The wooded mountains of the interior, some of which rise to over 1,100m, offer excellent walking, some truly beautiful scenery and a scattering of unspoilt villages where the way of life remains profoundly connected to the island's ancient traditions and customs.
The island's capital, Lefkada Town, meanwhile, is a buzzing centre with plenty of seafront tavernas and bars, a good selection of shops, and a busy marina.
At its northern point Lefkada is connected to mainland Greece by a causeway and, via frequent ferry services from the port of Nidri, to several of the other islands of the Ionian archipelago (including nearby Meganissi), making it eminently possible to explore further afield.

Villa Ella exceeded our expectations in many ways: views/facilities/comfort/pool amenities/BBQ etc. We were a party of 3 generations so it's not always easy to please 2 years to 62, but all agreed that the villa and location were first-class.

Something for everyone is often overused and misleading. However, this villa is one of the best we have ever booked over several years with Thinking Traveller. Feeling energetic, well-equipped gym with unmatched view. Feeling a bit hot in the sun a dip in the infinity pool or his and hers lounger under the retractable awning. Hungry, BBQ and Beer. Want to kick back in the cool of the evening separate area with views down to the harbour with sitting area for all the family around a central fire pit. Walk down to the taverna offered a variety of dinner opportunities. The walk up the hill back to the villa, in part due to heat, was quite demanding. Lastly, reasonable priced boat hire, not sure the beauty of the Greek islands can really be appreciated without at least one boat trip. Additional to support from the Thinking Traveller representative, a villa manager lives close by she is not intrusive but offers the most fantastic support one can imagine from recommendations for dinner to dealing with any issue no matter how small. In short, Villa Ella, Lefkada Greece a winner, waking up to the views around the bay and hills delightful with each bedroom enjoying a floor to ceiling window.

Amazing villa - thank you. Never tire of the view. Really comfortable and well-equipped. Overall a fantastic holiday. Martina and Cora were extremely helpful in all aspects of our holiday - they came up with some excellent recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Sivota is lovely, both early in the morning and in the evening. Great holiday!
