An illustration of a guest book

Everything was amazing at Felicia. This was the second time we have used The Thinking Traveller to book a European villa. Felicia was amazing. So close to some lovely small and rocky beaches with crystal clear waters. The villa was perfect for our party of 10. The out door space was perfect. The villa staff and the local guide were friendly and helpful. Easy access to nearby Argostoli and close to the airport. Would highly recommend.

We had a perfect vacation at Felicia. It is beautiful, the location is great, and the local staff are really nice people. We would return.

We would recommend Felicia. It had everything we needed in a villa for a great holiday. What stood out were the views, the pool, the cleanliness and the location.

Felicia is a very comfortable villa in a beautiful, peaceful, rural setting, with lovely views. The staff were exceptionally good. The cook is a most wonderful cook and really made a tremendous effort to cook everything that we liked. The maid was really nice and brilliant at her job. Would we return? Yes, we enjoyed our stay.

Felicia is a well positioned villa, peaceful, yet close to the sea. It was everything we expected and more, and we were so well looked after. The tennis court was outstanding, by far the best we have ever had. The pool was large and convenient. Everything is so well maintained. Would we return? Yes, we are definitely thinking of returning.

The setting and location of Felicia is excellent and the facilities provided were very good. The tennis court was an excellent standard and was very well maintained, which isn't always the case in a private villa. The villa cleaner and the chef did a very good job.

The Area

Felicia is located just to the west of buzzing Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, and looks out over the eponymous gulf towards the Paliki peninsula.

Just a five-minute drive away, Argostoli is well worth spending time in, not only for its pleasant pedestrianised streets flanked by tavernas, cafés and shops, but also for its market and its museums (one dedicated to the island's archaeology, the other to folklore). It is possible to walk to town from Felicia in about 20 minutes via a track across the wooded hills.

Apart from the little beaches at the bottom of the garden, there are several others nearby, including those of Kalamia, Gradakia, Paliostafida and Makris Gialos, all around five minutes away by car. A great many other beaches can be found on the south and west coasts. Of particular beauty is the stretch of white sand at Myrtos.

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands but still easy to discover in a week (even the northernmost tip, with the lovely harbour village of Fiskardo, is only an hour away).

Of historical note is the Venetian Castle of St George, which offers insights into the island's past, while keen walkers will enjoy exploring Kefalonia's many walking routes, including the one up to the summit of Mount Ainos, which rises to over 1,600m. Needless to say, the views are unforgettable and well worth the trek.

Just 4km east of Kefalonia is the island of Ithaca and it's easy to spend a day there, thanks to the frequent crossings from the port of Sami.
