Inside

accommodation at Ikos Calma is laid out over two floors.

The main entrance leads into an airy, luminous, open-plan space whose sandy floors, white walls, modern, clean lines, and integrated lighting set the tone for the interior design of the property.

To one side of this space is a comfortable sitting area, furnished with a large, L-shaped sofa. A wall of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors provide seamless access to the main terrace, while at the same time bringing in the light and the views.

To the other side is the well-equipped, sociable kitchen, which features white marble worktops, honeyed wooden cabinetry, a sizeable central island-breakfast bar with stools, and a pair of large picture windows.

To the right of the main entrance is a hallway, off which is a guest WC and the first bedroom, a double with access to a shaded side terrace, and an en-suite shower room with a colourful terrazzo feature wall.

Stairs lead up from the hallway to the first floor, which is home to the remaining bedrooms:

• a spacious sea-view double with a walk-through wardrobe, lofty, white-washed beamed ceilings en-suite bathroom, and access to two shared panoramic terraces, one on either side of the property
• a second good-sized double, also with en-suite shower room, lofty, white-washed beamed ceilings, and access to one of the two first-floor terraces

Outside

Ikos Calma occupies a panoramic position looking out to the sea and the port town of Patitiri to the east and the hill-top capital, Alonissos Town, to the northwest. The terraces and grounds have been designed to make the most of these views, and wherever you find yourself, you'll be mesmerised by what you see.

Cocooned amongst a fragrant wood of mature pine trees, the al fresco areas at Ikos Calma are tranquil, secluded and multi-dimensional. All the rooms open outside onto terraces, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience for everyone.

The communal, open-plan area on the ground floor flows out onto a spacious terrace that's shaded by a large wooden pergola. Here there is a convivial dining area and, a few paces further on, the tempting pool, which is flanked by sun loungers. 

Following the terrace around to the side of the house, one comes to a lounge area and an outdoor kitchen, equipped with all you might need for simple al fresco cooking. Beyond here is a shaded terrace with a table and chairs that's also accessed from the ground-floor bedroom.

To one side of the pool, steps lead down to the tennis court, which will be a focal point for fun and games during your stay.

At the end of the driveway, looking out between the pine trees to Patitiri and the sea, is a large paved area that's been furnished with another table and chairs to create the ideal spot for breakfasts and sunset drinks.

The landing on the first floor opens out onto a comfortably furnished terrace (also accessed from one of the bedrooms) with splendid views over Patitiri and the sea. Both bedrooms on the upper floor also access a shared terrace looking up towards Alonissos Town.

Due to the nature of the property, which includes terraces, low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.

Due to the relatively limited number of hydrofoil/ferry connections between Skiathos and Alonissos in the shoulder seasons, we recommend booking morning flights or, alternatively, adding a night in Skiathos Town the day before and/or after your time in Alonissos.

The number of steps that must be negotiated to get into and/or around this property might make it unsuitable for people with limited mobility.

Please note that the depth of the pool ranges from 1.2m to 1.8m.

Please note that due to the risk of wildfires, the use of fire pits and barbecues is restricted when the weather is windy or temperatures are high. This is particularly common in July and August. More information will be provided in your House Guide and via your local specialist.
