Detailed villa description
Inside: accommodation at Villa Camilla is all on one floor. A large sliding glass door opens into a voluminous, well-laid out, open-concept space comprising a kitchen diner and a cosy sitting area with a voluminous lounging sofa and TV. A pair of large, right-angled sliding glass windows bring in the garden and sea views and offer access to a terrace and the grounds beyond. The contemporary, minimalist kitchen has a central island and wall-to-wall cupboards, with the bare minimum on show. This aesthetic of order and pared-back, Zen-inspired simplicity runs throughout the property, with polished concrete floors, designer furnishings a fixtures and fittings and a low key palette of whites, greys, browns and blues all contributing harmoniously to the effect. A door in the living area leads into the first bedroom, a double-twin with en-suite shower room and a large window looking out over the gardens. Back in the open-concept communal area, a door to the right of the kitchen leads into a vestibule, off which is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and views of and access to the gardens, a shared shower room, and a second double bedroom with access to the surrounding gardens and a large picture window looking out to sea. Finally, a door to the left of the kitchen accesses the fourth and final bedroom, a double with a huge floor-to-ceiling picture window looking out to sea, access to the sea-view terrace, and an en-suite shower room.
Outside: the grounds and gardens of Villa Camilla could hardly be more Salentine: whispering olive trees sway in the sea breeze, low-lying aromatic plants and shrubs scent the air, dry stone walls crisscross the sun-baked red earth, and the remains of an antique rotund pajara add a touch of history and a sense of place. The accommodation at Villa Camilla spills out onto wrap-around terraces that are furnished for lounging, dining and gazing at the divine sea views. In pride of place, also looking out to sea, sits the sensuously curvaceous half-moon infinity pool, the perfect spot in which to relax completely. As the day comes to an end and the sun begins its descent, you might find yourselves gravitating towards the roof terrace, from where, with drink in hand, you can salute the setting sun and look forward to a balmy, moonlit evening ahead.
