McQueens Floristry Retreat

26th September - 3rd October 2020: McQueens Flower School is teaming up with The Thinking Traveller for an exclusive week-long floristry experience at the amazing Palazzo Gorgoni in Galatina, Puglia.

An overview of the experience

Through a series of demonstrations and hands-on classes led by McQueens’ master tutors, you'll learn how to create beautiful hand-tied bouquets, dynamic floral installations (of the type that McQueens are regularly commissioned to create for 5* hotels and prestigious events), and gorgeous table arrangements. You'll be working with seasonal Puglian blooms and there'll be lots of useful tips and advice about selecting, buying and caring for flowers.

When not in class, you’ll be able to visit Puglia’s famed botanical gardens, stroll around gorgeous southern Italian towns, lounge on the beach, and enjoy plenty of authentic, home-cooked Puglian cuisine.

Head below to find out more about McQueens, Palazzo Gorgoni, Galatina and the programme.

Palazzo Gorgoni - your home for the week

Key features

  • Luxuriously restored, art-filled 18th century palazzo
  • Privileged location at the centre of a beautiful baroque town
  • Courtyard pool, gym, spa and panoramic roof terrace

With its delightful mix of contemporary luxury, historic charm and artistic flair, Palazzo Gorgoni is an object lesson in how to restore an 18th-century aristocratic palazzo: have fun, put passion into it, and embrace the original character and history of the building. Meticulously, lovingly and sumptuously brought back to life, Palazzo Gorgoni charms, delights and pampers in equal measure.

About Galatina

Galatina is one of Puglia’s best hidden gems. Just 20km from stunning Lecce – the so-called Florence of the south -  and founded in the 12th century, Galatina’s old town centre is a labyrinth of streets flanked by impressive baroque aristocratic palazzi, churches and civic buildings. Restaurants, bars and cafés spill out onto the pavements and squares, independent boutiques tempt curious shoppers, and the atmosphere is one of welcoming tranquillity.
