Detailed villa description
Inside: accommodation at Fichimori is spread over a collection of interconnecting trulli, a lamia bedroom wing and a terrace kitchen, all of which surround a stone-flagged courtyard. The main entrance of the trullo complex takes one into a luminous, stylishly furnished living room. This space flows to one side into a beautiful, well-equipped kitchen with dining table and access to the surrounding terraces and al fresco dining areas. A door to the left of the living area leads to a second relaxation area and then onto the fabulous spa, comprising a Jacuzzi tub, a Turkish bath, a shower and a WC. Moving outside and across the terrace, one comes to the lamia, another traditional Puglian construction, which is home to the property's two double-twin bedrooms. Each has its own en-suite shower room and both access not only the central courtyard but also a terrace overlooking the pool area and gardens. Last but not least, as this is where you may well end up spending most lunchtimes and evenings, is the terrace kitchen, with its wood-burning pizza oven, wine cooler, fridge, sink and ample work surfaces.
Outside: al fresco areas at Fichimori are abundant and various. The trulli, the lamia and the terrace kitchen wrap around a large courtyard, furnished with a sitting area and a shaded dining area. Attached to the terrace kitchen, meanwhile, is a second covered dining area with views over the gardens and pool. The courtyard flows around the lamia, where there is another stylishly furnished terrace area accessed from the two bedrooms. A few steps from here take one up to the pool area, which is immersed in a large expanse of manicured, vibrant green grass. Sunloungers surround the lovely pool, which has a shallow beach-effect end, and yet more sitting areas dot the lawns, including one with a fire-pit. Dry-stone walls and banks of aromatic plants separate the gardens from the terraces and views extend out over the surrounding farmland, which is planted with fruit and olive trees.
