Detailed villa description
Inside: accommodation at Gaia is all on one floor. The front door takes one immediately into a spacious, airy and luminous open-concept space hosting a comfy sofa-furnished living area, a large dining table, and a really well-equipped modern kitchen. Two sandy-coloured stone walls echo the property’s exterior, while large sliding glass doors open out onto a shady terrace and bring the remarkable sea views inside. A door near the dining area leads into the first bedroom, a spacious sea-view double with two sets of glass doors opening out onto a large furnished terrace, and a large en-suite bathroom featuring both a tub and a separate shower, as well as twin sinks. Back in the living area, a few steps take one into a hallway, off which is a guests shower room and the two remaining bedrooms: a large sea-view twin with a voluminous en-suite shower room, and a generously proportioned, luminous master double with lofty, vaulted, wood-beamed ceilings, a chill-out mezzanine and an en-suite bathroom with twin sinks and a large walk-in shower. Both of these bedrooms have French windows opening out onto a large, shaded sea-view terrace.
Outside: paved terraces wrap around Gaia, offering a great variety of al fresco areas in which to relax, recline, dine and swim. Two large sliding glass doors in the open-plan living area and kitchen-diner lead out onto a covered patio furnished for sitting and admiring the views. From here a couple of steps lead down to the main area of terrace, home to a fabulous pool with curvaceous infinity end and sea views and sun loungers. Looking over the pool from one side of this terrace is the shaded outdoor dining table, which is served by a large built-in barbecue and a sink. Here there is also a handily situated outdoor shower, the perfect way to freshen up on return from the sea. Slightly raised above the dining area is another large terrace area, accessed from the twin and the master bedrooms, while a few steps below the dining area is a small shaded look-out area with a curved stone bench. On the far side of the house is yet another lovely sea-view terrace accessed from the second double bedroom and via the a little path running from the pool area. Views from Gaia take in the tiny circular islet of Prasioni directly below, vast swathes of the Ionian Sea, the Greek mainland and a horizon of numerous islands. Nowhere are these views more bewitching than on the roof terrace, which is the perfect spot for yoga in the morning and sundowners in the evening.
