"Owned by the Russian model Anna Kolpakova and named after her daughter Alice, this heavenly five-bedroomed house is set in rolling hills and is part beautifully restored trulli (traditional dry-stone huts with conical roofs), part contemporary villa. Bedrooms are divided between villa and trulli, which are linked by a path through the vast, immaculately landscaped gardens punctuated by gnarled olive trees. While the main country kitchen is housed in the villa, there’s an additional kitchen in the trulli. With light-coloured stone floors and walls, and shady, sunlight-dappled outdoor living areas all around, this is the summer house of one’s dreams. The loveliest spaces include the large al fresco dining area with built-in barbecue, the beautiful pool with its beanbags and daybed shrouded in billowing curtains, and the cosy living room in the trulli, with open fireplace. All areas are supremely stylish while managing to avoid the show-home vibe of many contemporary villas.
Trullo Alice sleeps nine and costs from €3,980 per week, available exclusively through Think Puglia (020-7377 8518; thinkpuglia.com)."
