Detailed villa description
Inside: accommodation at A Torra is all on one floor. The main entrance takes one into a welcoming hallway with a door on either side. The door on the right takes one into the spacious living area, with built-in sofas gathered around an impressive fireplace. The living area flows under a wide arch and into the lovely kitchen-diner, whose large sliding glass doors bring in the sea views and open out onto a covered terrace and the lawned gardens beyond. This space is indicative of A Torra's style: original features (exposed wooden beams, stone and terracotta flooring and thick wooden doors) and charming antique furnishings hint at the property's venerable age, while quality contemporary appliances and fittings ensure that modern lifestyle requirements are perfectly catered for. Towards the rear of the kitchen (which also connects with the entrance hall), a short corridor leads to a utility room and one of the four bedrooms, a master double with en-suite shower room, w/c and access to a little patio. The remaining three bedrooms are located in a self-contained wing accessed from the living area. First up is a second master double with fantastic sea views, a walk-in wardrobe and a large en-suite bathroom with his-and-her sinks, a w/c, a shower and a separate tub. Then comes a double-twin with sea views, access to the gardens and an adjacent shower room (without w/c). Last comes a smaller bedroom with French bed, garden views and en-suite shower room. These two bedrooms share a w/c accessed from the corridor.
Outside: A Torra is surrounded by extensive gardens, which offer a variety of terraces, lawned areas and panoramic spots. To one side of the house, near the parking area, a path leads up to a little sitting area with views over the sea and the watchtower from which the property takes its name. Just outside the main entrance is a terrace of fruit trees and the patio of the master bedroom near the kitchen. Charming as these areas are, guests naturally gravitate towards the large expanse of lawn on the sea side of the property. Here there is a shaded al fresco dining table, served by a wood-fired oven, and a sitting area, both accessed from the kitchen-dinner. Gentle views take in azure sea, the cerulean sky and verdant foliage of the mature trees surrounding the property. This is all wonderful, but life at A Torra gets even better thanks to a path that leads down through the gardens to a little sandy beach and the crystalline waters of the sea.
