School’s Out – Get a Sicilian Education this February half-term!

16th January 2012 - Villa specialists Think Sicily have come up with a great idea for families taking a holiday during the UK half-term in February: a pick and mix curriculum for children (and adults!) of all ages that transforms a holiday into a fun, hands-on educational experience.

History lesson ideas include a visit to one of Sicily’s many Greek sites with one of Think Sicily’s recommended guides. The ancient Greeks first settled in Sicily over 2,700 years ago and there are dozens of temples and theatres dotted all over the island. Science and Geography are catered for with a field trip: just let Think Sicily organise one of their 4x4 off-road trips up Europe’s highest active volcano, Mount Etna. A volcanologist guide will help you explore and understand the mountain and the kids can take home a piece of lava as a memento! If you’re really lucky you might even see an eruption!

For a rainy day, a Food and Nutrition lesson at your villa could be the answer. A local cook will teach the kids how to make pizza, pasta or, for those with a sweet tooth, one of Sicily’s speciality cakes! Parents can join in or just sit back and enjoy the results! Art and Culture are also on the curriculum with ideas including ceramic or papyrus-making classes, a visit to one of the island’s traditional puppet theatres or watching the Carnival processions in Acireale or Sciacca.

PE lessons include racing down deserted beaches, kite or wind-surfing, skiing on Mount Etna, horseriding or, if you book one of Think Sicily’s villas with heated pools, swimming galore. Choose as many or as few ‘lessons’ as you think best... Any trip to Sicily will be a positive learning experience!

Think Sicily, voted the world’s favourite villa rental company by readers of Condé Nast Traveller in 2011, has a wide variety of family-friendly villas in Sicily and over ten years’ experience organising family breaks on the Mediterranean’s largest and most fascinating island.

A week’s stay at Baia dei Turchi, with heated pool, spa, gym, Jacuzzi, sauna and Hammam, costs from £4,720 per week and sleeps 9 (why not bring the cousins or some family friends?). A week’s stay at Casa Nuvola, a villa with heated pool near Cefalu, costs £2,940 per week in February and sleeps up to 10.

New Websites And A New Brochure For Think Sicily And Think Puglia

January 2012 - Think Sicily and Think Puglia are delighted to announce both the publication of their 2012-2013 brochure and a comprehensive upgrade of their sites, ThinkSicily.com and ThinkPuglia.com.

The beautifully designed brochure weighs in at 264 pages (printed on paper from sustainable sources) and showcases the most desirable villas in Sicily and Puglia. Hundreds of quality photos, fascinating destination information and some inspiring holiday add-ons, including the company’s unique in-villa wine delivery service, all combine to make this a must-see brochure for anyone planning a holiday for 2012 or beyond.

Think Sicily and Think Puglia also have new websites for the New Year! A captivating new design and improved navigation features make the two sites even more enticing and user-friendly. Users can quickly identify the perfect villa for their holiday thanks to the great variety of search options, including villa type, number of bedrooms, location and amenities to name just a few. In-depth property descriptions, full-screen photo slideshows showing the villas in all their detail, area information and customer reviews complete the picture, ensuring that nothing is left to chance.

Both websites also feature comprehensive destination guides – also available free as Apps for iPhone and iPad - including information about the main towns and cities, the best beaches, the must-see sights, activities for children, history, culture, festivals and events, food and wine and much more besides.

“When voting us their favourite villa company in the world in 2011,” says Huw Beaugié, Managing Director and co-founder of Think Sicily and Think Puglia, “readers of Condé Nast Traveller made particular mention of the range, quality and presentation of our villas. We are confident that with our new websites and brochure these aspects of our business have just got even better, giving an even truer reflection of the levels of excellence, both in terms of villas and the personal service from our team of experts, that define our company.”

Think Sicily win Condé Nast Traveller Best Villa Company award

Conde Nast Traveller Readers Awards Winner 2011 | Think Sicily1st September 2011 - Readers of the prestigious travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller have voted Think Sicily the top villa rental company in the world. Huw and Rossella Beaugié, the founders and managing directors of the company, picked up the award at the ceremony in London last night.

"After ranking in the top ten consistently over the last few years, we are hugely proud to receive this accolade," said Huw. "Our thanks go to everyone who voted for us, to all those who have travelled with us over the last 10 years, to our fantastic team and to our wonderful owners."

In the voting, Think Sicily never scored less than 82 and sealed the win by receiving top marks for its range of villas and presentation of villas.

In the same awards, readers voted Italy as their favourite country for holidays, while Sicily was voted 11th best island destination in the world. In the overall Top 100 listings, Italy comes 5th and Think Sicily is the only Italy specialist operator to make the cut, coming in at a remarkable 83rd.

Think Sicily was founded in 2002 after husband and wife team Huw and Rossella gave up their careers (engineer and cell biologist respectively) to pursue a passion: they thought that Sicily had the most impressive mixture of history, culture, gastronomy, climate and natural beauty of anywhere they had ever visited and they wanted to share it with other discerning travellers.

Think Sicily rapidly grew into the leading up-market villa rental company for Sicily, offering the most desirable villas, specialist knowledge and an on-the-ground support network that was voted the best of any villa company by readers of Condé Nast Traveller a few years ago.

In 2010, the company’s passion for the south of Italy saw the launch of Think Puglia, now provider of the most desirable luxury masserie, restored trulli and sea-front villas with pools in the region.

“We’ve come a long way in 10 years,” said Rossella. “Our clients and our owners have given us so much encouragement and satisfaction and it is thanks to them that we have achieved what we have. Our goal is simple: to hear our clients tell us that they’ve just had the best holiday of their lives.”

Says Huw Beaugié, founder and Managing Director of The Thinking Traveller, “A Portrait of Sicily was first published in book form in 2008. Its transformation into an App confirms both our commitment to adding value to our clients’ holiday and our desire to keep pushing back the boundaries in the field of luxury villa rental holidays.”

When Three’s a Crowd - Romantic And Honeymoon Villas In Sicily

2nd June 2010 - Summer's here, love is in the air and there are few things more romantic than a well-earned holiday with that special someone...

It might be the first time away together, or the celebration of a significant anniversary. It could be a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon or the first holiday without the kids... Or maybe just pure unadulterated romance is on your mind!

Whatever your reason, a week or two in one of Think Sicily’s romantic villas will be a heady sensuous experience. Just picture it: long candle-lit al fresco dinners, the gentle whir of the cicadas celebrating their own very special Vespers, the distant echo of the waves caressing the shores down below, the sun's sudden plunge for the west, leaving the realm of the night sky to a twinkling galaxy of stars, bougainvillea, jasmine and a thousand other fragrances perfuming the warm, drowsy air...

If you can picture yourself in that situation, then you should really take a look at Think Sicily’s romantic collection!

There are hideaway options, such as Poggio Pigio (from £1700pw), Egesta (from £1860pw), Ballata (from £1880pw) and Pizzo Castellaro (from £1700pw), offering stunning views, private pools and an intimate atmosphere of exquisite isolation.

Then there are fabulous sea-front or townhouse apartments within walking distance of restaurants, bars and a little nightlife, including Orata, Spigola (both from £1800pw), and Giara on the coast below Taormina (from £2560pw), Il Gabbiano  on the sea just outside Cefalu (from £1760pw), I Ciclopi, a panoramic penthouse in Aci Castello (from £1580pw) or Volo surveying the beautiful Baroque town of Modica (from £1500pw).

All were built or restored with romance firmly in mind and all are imbued with almost aphrodisiacal qualities! Think Romance... Think Sicily!

Think Sicily Teams Up With Planeta For A Unique In-Villa Wine Delivery Service!

23rd April 2010 - Think Sicily, market leader in high-end villa rentals, has teamed up with Planeta, one of Sicily’s top wine producers, to offer a wine delivery service for guests staying in its Sicilian villas.

As the many international prizes won by Sicilian producers confirm, some of Italy’s finest wines are now being made in Sicily. The last 15 years have seen the emergence of a new generation of Sicilian producers (with Planeta at the forefront), who are realising the full potential of the island’s enviable climate, its autochthonous grape varieties and its fertile soil.

It is sometimes difficult, however, to lay your hands on Sicily’s finest wines if you’re not staying near one of the larger towns and it is for this reason that Think Sicily has launched this new service, ensuring their clients get the best local wine available delivered direct to their villa.

Commenting on the new initiative, Huw Beaugié, co-founder and Managing Director of The Thinking Traveller, said, “this is a win-win service, entirely positive for our clients, who can choose from 12 excellent wines at normal high-street prices, order on-line through our secure server and arrive at their villa to find their week’s supply waiting for them.“

If enjoying a glass or two of the local nectar is part and parcel of a good holiday, which it undoubtedly is for many, then Think Sicily’s in-villa wine delivery service is hard to beat.

Pearls of the Mediterranean - Think Sicily villas in Taormina

5th April 2010 - There are few towns in the Mediterranean that are quite as lovely or as perfectly positioned as Taormina! It has been a magnet for travellers ever since becoming part of the Grand Tour in the 19th Century and today it continues to be Sicily's most popular destination.

A roll call of visitors reads like a who's who of the arts: Goethe, Dumas, Brahms, Klimt, D.H. Lawrence, Wagner, Oscar Wilde, Truman Capote, John Steinbeck, Ingmar Bergmann, Francis Ford Coppola, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Federico Fellini, Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, Elisabeth Taylor and Woody Allen have all spent time or lived in Taormina!

Stunning panoramas take in smoking, snow-capped Mount Etna to the south and the sparkling blue sea far down below. The old town centre remains perfectly intact, its pedestrianised labyrinth of streets nourishing a vibrant cafe society... And then there's the stunning Graeco-Roman theatre, home to a series of annual film, music
 and arts festivals.

Think Sicily has a wonderful selection of villas in and around Taormina, including the following: hill-top Respiro boasts stunning views of Taormina, the Ionian Sea and the Italian mainland from its infinity pool (prices from £ 3,450 to £ 6,890 per week: sleeps 10), La Pergola sits on the bay of Mazzaro', just a hop, skip and a jump away from the beach (from £ 2,600 to £ 4,130 per week: sleeps 6), Borgo degli Aranci, a fragrant orange estate, is a great solution for large groups wishing to stay near Taormina (from £ 2,850 to £ 9,610 per week: sleeps 18), the aristocratic Villa Pietraperciata offers an excellent  authentic  Sicilian experience (from £ 4,140 to £ 5,190 per week: sleeps 8), while La Riva is a beach-house "a pied en l'eau"  par excellence (from £ 1,740 to £ 2,720 per week: sleeps 5).

An evening in the life of a Think Sicily villa renter...

2nd March 2010 - Is there anything quite as soothing to the soul as watching the sun melt into the sea… a warming conflagration of orange suffusing the darkening skies… the latent heat of the day tempered by a chilled glass in hand… a convivial evening at your Think Sicily villa yet to come?

Though the sun has now set, the sky has retained streaks of mellow pinkish hues. The Sicilian night begins to fall, accompanied, as ever, by the soft chirping of cicadas serenading the stars and the moon. The air, perfumed with bougainvillea, jasmine and sun-baked earth, is heavy with the latent heat of the day but soon starts to cool and breathe once more.

Pool lights come on and a luminous blue shimmers amongst the darkness of the surrounding garden… one final swim of the day maybe? It is certainly tempting! But no, the cook is preparing the table and the fragrances wafting from your villa’s kitchen call for your full attention.

And here come the rest of your party, your loved ones, your friends, radiant from another day’s sun, glowing with a profound contentedness. More chilled Sicilian white is popped open and the conversation turns to the day’s pleasures…

The call for dinner arrives and you move expectantly to the candle-lit poolside table where a feast of home-made Sicilian delicacies awaits you…

…the perfect end to another perfect day at your Think Sicily villa…

Sound good? Find your perfect villa in Sicily at www.thinksicily.com or contact us at info@thinksicily.com.

Think Sicily has villas for all in beautiful Cefalù!

4th February 2010 - With its long sandy beach, excellent climate and maze of Mediaeval streets, Cefalù is one of the most attractive holiday towns in the Mediterranean. Renting a villa in the area makes for a great vacation, and Think Sicily has villas for all tastes!

Those who stay in Think Sicily villas near Cefalù go home with memories of hedonistic evenings, sunbaked days by the sea and long, relaxing breakfasts in the cool of the morning shade.

Cefalù is a very child-friendly town, thanks to its pedestrianised streets, its beach and its puppet theatre. You will also find plenty of restaurants more than happy to welcome kids and a plethora of ice-cream bars for the occasional treat! If you're looking for a secure environment, with plenty of space for your family and a private pool then Think Sicily has exactly what you're looking for.

The sea in Cefalù is at once azure, turquoise, deep blue and limpid green. It offers constantly changing vistas taking in vast tracts of Sicily's coastline and the Aeolian Islands. The sandy beaches that run all along the coast in this area are amongst the most beautiful in Sicily. If waking up to the sound of gently lapping waves, nipping out of the gate and plunging in to the sea is your idea of a good holiday, take a look at Think Sicily's villas near Cefalu' with direct sea access.

But the area of Cefalù is not just sea and sand! Staying in these parts you will feel a real magnetic draw pulling you towards the Madonie Mountains, a nature reserve with peaks rising to almost 2,000m and a host of charming mediaeval villages. Up in the green wooded hills, life is a little more laid back, the temperature a little cooler and the sea views from on high, breath-taking.To have the best of both worlds, both sea and mountains, look at one of Think Sicily's many villas nestling in the foothills behind and around Cefalù.

Being at the centre of things, or at least being able to walk to restaurants, bars and shops in a lovely town like Cefalù is also real pleasure. After a hard day on the beach, an evening stroll and a spot of dinner without the car certainly has its advantages. Think Sicily boasts several properties right in the centre or within easy walking distance of the town's gently buzzing centre!

Cefalù has something for everyone, and so does Think Sicily!

The Thinking Traveller launches Think Puglia!

6th January 2010 - The Thinking Traveller is delighted to announce the birth of its new baby: Think Puglia, a little sister for Think sicily!

When we launched Think Sicily in November 2002, we filled a gap in the market. No reputable villa rental company had ever taken Sicily seriously as a destination and there were almost no high quality rental villas in Sicily. Seven full seasons have gone by, and the Sicilian villa rental landscape is unrecognisable. We have raised the bar dramatically and Think Sicily now leads a quality villa rental sector that has contributed to a huge resurgence of Sicily as a desirable destination. The most recent confirmation of this vastly enhanced profile was when, in September 2009, Sicily was voted "best of the best" in the annual Conde Nast Traveller Readers Awards. In the same awards, The Thinking Traveller was again recognised (for the second time in three years) as one of the Top 10 villa rental companies in the world.

So why expand to Puglia?

Since our first clients returned home with smiles on their faces in 2002, people have been asking "do you do other areas?". Finally, last year, when a client who had taken a Think Sicily villa for one month in each of six successive years, asked us "do you know anyone in Puglia?" we felt we couldn't possibly let them travel without us. So we called some friends and went to "the heel" of Italy to take a look. There we found a wonderful area with some fantastic people, towns and beaches. We also found the perfect villa for our loyal client, in the beautiful Salento peninsular, which although relatively little known outside Italy, is home to some of Italy's best loved beaches and has recently become a magnet for leading figures in Italian fashion and show business. Think Puglia was born!

Key to our business is locating the most desirable villas in an area, securing exclusive contracts so that we know we will be able to manage them properly and then identifying the people who will provide award winning service on the ground. We've been to Puglia several times over the past year, and have established some privileged relationships with people we can trust to fulfill the expectations of our clients.

As with Think Sicily, we are starting out with a small selection of hand-picked gems, the most desirable in Puglia's Salento Peninsular. Villa Blanca or La Sarica for luxury, Villa Elia for a mix of style and history, Le Antiche Pajare for a fabulous old trullo on the beach.... and expect to see a few more join the Think Puglia range over the coming months.

All members of our London team have already or will shortly be visiting all these villas so that our clients can count on the same level of expert advice when selecting their villa that they have become used to with Think Sicily.

We'd love to talk to you about Think Puglia, and we've got plenty of news, views and photos to share with you... we're also very keen to discuss press trips and ideas for features. One interesting possibility, for example, is provided by the new Ryanair flight connecting Trapani (Sicily) to Brindisi (Puglia).... now there's food for thought for The Thinking Traveller!

San Giuliano joins Think Sicily’s exclusive villa portfolio

The Thinking Traveller is delighted to announce that San Giuliano, one of the most desirable fully-serviced private villas in Sicily, is now exclusively available for rent through Think Sicily.

San Giuliano, home to the Marquises Paternò Castello di San Giuliano for over 800 years, is one of the finest aristocratic villas in Sicily, and, as such, a welcome addition to thinkSicily's exclusive villa range.

The house’s long, prestigious history is evident wherever you look, but modern comforts are never lacking. The grounds are a delight to behold and the interiors, a labour of love for the late Fiamma Ferragamo, wife of the Marquis and world famous designer, ooze charm.

The presence of a butler, cook and maids means that guests here live like kings. Indeed, it is no coincidence that Prince Charles is perhaps the best known of the countless family friends who have stayed at San Giuliano.

With both San Giuliano and Don Arcangelo all’Olmo (the “best villa” in Sicily according to Conde Nast Traveller) exclusive to The Thinking Traveller, those looking for something rather more than simple 5-star luxury in Sicily should have one port of call: Think Sicily.com.

Experience western Sicily with Think Sicily!

27th April 2009 - Sicily’s west coast is somewhat less celebrated than its Ionian counterpart, though in reality it has an enormous amount to offer visitors, not least thinkSicily’s villas!  And with the airports of Trapani and Palermo offering direct flights to most major European cities, it has never been easier to head west!

With the remarkable Greek sites and temples of Selinunte and Segesta, the Phoenician island of Mothya, the mediaeval hill-top town of Erice, the splendidly restored old centres of Trapani and Marsala, the Egadi Islands and mile upon mile of sandy beaches, western Sicily is a great holiday destination.

Think Sicily has a splendid selection of holiday villas available in the area, three of which are part of the company’s Think Exquisite range - the crème de la crème of villas in Sicily.

Al Jafar is a superb, intriguing, chic, imposing, refined 12th century castle, once home to an Arab Emir! Panoramic turrets, stylish interiors, delightful walled gardens, a stunning pool and daily service all make for an idyllic base for anyone who believes his holiday home is his castle! Al Jafar sleeps 7 and reduced 2009 prices start from £4,850 per week.

Hera, near the Greek archaeological site of Selinunte, also has a fascinating history: originally an olive oil store, built using stones taken from the nearby Greek quarries, it has been transformed into a luxury villa, ingeniously incorporating original features with modern design touches. Immersed in an olive grove, and boasting a great pool, Hera comes with full daily service including private chef. The villa sleeps 8 and prices start from £4,690 per week thanks to a special reduced price offer.

La Favorita, just outside the historic wine-producing town of Marsala, is an aristocratic villa, whose sumptuous gardens include manicured lawns, towering pines and fabulous heated pool. Rated as one of "the 30 Best Villas in the Med" by Condé Nast Traveller, La Favorita lavishes its guests with pampering daily service and private cook. The main villa, sleeping 12, has prices starting from £5,070 per week with 2009's special reductions. A delightful cottage on the grounds may also be taken, increasing the capacity to 16.

These villas are available exclusively from thinkSicily, the market leader in high-end villa rentals in Sicily. See www.thinkSicily.com for more information or call +44 (0)20 7377 8518.

Think Flexible - Think Sicily and its flexible villa rental initiative

14th April 2009 - No longer is it necessary to book a villa holiday by the week or arrive and depart on set days. Flexibility is the name of the game and the advantages are numerous.

Traditional holiday companies tend to shoe-horn their clients into prescriptive Saturday-to-Saturday holiday slots, where 7, 14 or 21-night stays are the only option. In a more flexible world, however, with any-day low-cost flights and a more DIY holiday culture, however, such limitations are becoming quickly out of date.

With this in mind, Think Sicily, the market leader in quality villa rentals for Sicily, has launched its new Think Flexible initiative whereby guests can arrive on any day of the week and stay as long as they like, paying, in effect, by the day. Indeed, with Think Sicily it is possible, for example, to book a villa for 9 nights rather than 7, or 12 nights rather than 14, while in a great many properties, guests may even choose to stay for less than a full week.

"Flexibility is the key", said Huw Beaugie, Managing Director and founder of Think Sicily. "The more we talk and listen to our clients, the more we realise that they want more choice, a choice that reflects the more flexible nature of the world we live in today. Why shouldn't people go on holiday on a Wednesday instead of a Saturday, or stay for 11 days rather than 7? Now, with Thin kSicily, they can".

Another important aspect of this new, pioneering initiative is that those booking a Think Sicily villa can take advantage of cheaper mid-week flights to Sicily and beat the busy weekend airport crowds.

The 5 most romantic things to do in Sicily

11th March 2009 - If it's romance you're after, or a special honeymoon memory, then Sicily is a great place to come. Think Sicily, the villa specialist for Sicily has come up with five tried and tested romantic ideas to set your pulses racing! All in the name of l'amore Sicilian style!

Italians are famous for being passionate, romantic people, but nowhere is the "love of love" more evident than in Sicily. This makes it just the place for a romantic tryst, especially if you are staying in one of thinkSicily's idyllic villas!

So, to whet your appetite, here they are: the 5 most romantic things to do in Sicily!

1. Sunset cruising
A private sunset cruise along Sicily's beautiful coastline, or around the Egadi or Aeolian Islands. Crack open a bottle of chilled champagne or Passito di Pantelleria as you watch the sun melt into the western Mediterranean... Of course you will be free to take a dip on the way!

2. A volcanic sunrise
Make an early start to witness a spectacular sunrise from Mount Etna, an unforgettable, unique experience to be shared with someone special! Think Sicily will, of course, arrange for a 4x4 pick up and drop off at your villa and a little breakfast hamper to open at the top!

3. Come fly with me!
Take a helicopter flight over Mount Etna and continue out to the Aeolian Islands for a bird's eye view of the smoking volcanic island of Stromboli. Stop off for a swim, lunch and a massage at Capofaro on Salina before whizzing back to your Think Sicily villa hideaway! Pure, unadulterated romance!

4. Dinner is served!
Let one of thinkSicily's discreet cooks prepare that ultimate, romantic candle-lit dinner for you. Spend the day lounging by your villa's pool, strolling through one of Sicily's charming old town centres or lazing on the beach and come home to find an al fresco table laden with gastronomic delights, candles burning and a bottle of champagne on ice... We can even arrange for chirping Mediterranean crickets to serenade you!

5. A night at the opera
Nothing is more romantic than a full-blooded Italian opera, especially when seen from your own private box in one of Europe's finest theatres! No Sicilian opera experience is complete, however, without a post-performance supper, so let us recommend one of the island's finest romantic restaurants!

Think Romance... Think Sicily!

Think Sicily releases its very own guide to Sicily - A Portrait Of Sicily

2nd July 2008 - Think Sicily, the specialist high quality villa rental company, has just published its very own guide to Sicily, A Portrait of Sicily.

The book, which has been written, produced and published entirely by thinkSicily, provides yet another example of the travel company’s commitment to providing its clients with in-depth information about how to get the best out of Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean. “A Portrait of Sicily is a testament not only to our passion and love of Sicily but also to the level of service we offer our clients,” says, Huw Beaugié, Managing Director and co-founder of The Thinking Traveller Ltd.

A Portrait of Sicily is no ordinary guide, but rather a literary and photographic “aperitif” for those visiting Sicily. “The aim of A Portrait of Sicily was not to provide a blow-by-blow account of the island’s history, or to describe every church, statue and fresco in minute detail. Instead we wanted to whet readers’ appetites, to give them a taste of what Sicily has to offer and to help them choose when it’s time to order! We have tried to evoke the atmosphere of the places we describe, to give a sense to Sicily’s tumultuous history and to provide an insight into the island’s complex cultural identity,” continued Mr. Beaugié.

The book includes a series of succinct “portraits” of Sicily’s main towns, islands, mountain ranges and areas of outstanding beauty, mixed with historical and cultural essays, “goodThinking” tips and a comprehensive restaurant guide.

A Portrait of Sicily also marks Think Sicily's 5th anniversary as the undisputed leader in the field of quality villa rentals in Sicily. The first company to develop the Sicilian villa rental , market, Think Sicily continues to set the pace, constantly raising standards in all aspects of its business. A Portrait of Sicily perfectly encapsulates this pursuit of excellence.

Holiday in the UK? No thanks! I’m thinking Sicily...

26th February 2009 - Much is being written about the advantages of holidaying in the UK this summer, but does it really make sense? Maybe a villa in Sicily is a better option...

Is a holiday in the UK what you really need after a hard year’s work, after struggling through a long, cold, snowy, wet British winter? Surely a holiday is all about getting away from it all... not spending another week in the rain!

Don’t make a decision you could regret without first considering Sicily and Think Sicily, the market leader in quality villa rentals for Sicily!

Here are a few points for reflection:

  • Isn’t Sicily’s warm, sunny, dry climate just what you really need? Think of the warm sea, the sun-drenched sand, the balmy al fresco dinners, sea-food pasta and a bottle or two of chilled white Sicilian wine, the chirruping crickets, those Mediterranean sunsets...
  • Sicily is just 3 hours' flight from England, making it quicker to get to for many than a drive to Wales, Devon, Cornwall, the Lake District or Scotland!
  • Low cost, direct flights to Sicily are available from Ryanair, easyJet, British Airways, Air Malta and several other companies departing from London Stansted, London Luton, London Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester...
  • Think Sicily’s portfolio is second to none and caters for all tastes: perfect family villas with gardens and pools, romantic hideaways just for two, spacious villas for large groups of friends or extended family, sea-front apartments, luxurious, fully-serviced private 5* hotels, stylish townhouses and rural retreats!
  • Think Sicily’s prices are extremely competitive and much better value for money than staying, for example, in a hotel, with the considerable extra expense of eating out every day!
  • All Think Sicily guests benefit from the full support of the company’s award-winning local team and their exhaustive specialist knowledge – you can trust them to be there for you whenever you need them, 24/7.

Make the best choice for you and your group this year: Think Sicily!

Think Sicily joins Action Against Hunger

11th December 2007 - Think Sicily, the specialist villa rental company, is donating 20% of its takings for Christmas and New Year bookings made between now and the end of the year to Action Against Hunger, a charity fighting starvation and malnutrition in the world.

The initiative, brainchild of Think Sicily's founding director Rossella Beaugie, aims to raise over 10,000 Euro for the charity's projects around the world. "It is a great way of both satisfying our clients’ dream of having a Mediterranean Christmas and helping those much less fortunate than ourselves," said Rossella. “Christmas is a time for giving and we hope that our donation will make a little difference to the lives of a few people.” In an attempt to attract as much interest as possible Think Sicily is also offering specially reduced prices on several of its villas.

Think Sicily began its relationship with Action Against Hunger back in September when, as part of a Restaurants Against Hunger event at Carluccio’s Garrick Street restaurant, it donated a villa holiday as a prize in the fundraising raffle. Impressed by the charity’s seriousness and commitment to its projects, the idea of creating a more long-term relationship seemed natural.

Think Sicily is the undisputed leader in quality villa rentals in Sicily and was the first company to develop the market there five years ago. Founded by husband-and-wife team, Huw and Rossella Beaugie, thinkSicily's success is based on its continued quest for quality in all aspects of the business, whether it be the villas themselves, the level of service from those working in the company's London offices or its on-the-ground-support - recently voted the best of all villa companies by readers of Conde Nast Traveller.
